Live Stream It !!!

What a great tournament this should be ! It's an amazing field of players.
Is anyone going to live stream this event ? It would be fantastic if
Accu-Stats could get down there for it.
I'd pay to watch all that great 14.1

what a lineup.

Looks like a Murderer's Row.

If one don't get you, the next one will.;)

D-man,
It's a bit weaker than the field 2 years ago (which was similar, but also included Thorsten and Mika). My goal is just to get to the Sunday rounds; that would be quite an accomplishment given the overall strength of the field.

Preliminary rumors are that I may be competing in Bobby Hunter's round robin group....he can't play at all can he?????

Hey Don... according to the first post in this thread, they're doing the draw for the brackets the day of the tournament, no?

I'm surprised about your opinion on the strength of the field. :) Of the 30 players I know, at least 23 of them are 100-ball runners. More than half of those are 200-ball runners. This tournament is usually such that you just want to avoid about 6 players - this year, there's no avoiding anything lol. I don't even see how Peter's going to be able to put people in the brackets according to an A-B-C-D-E classification again. I'd guess it'll just be a random grouping of 5 players in each. You simply have too many premiere players this year.

I usually figure to come in somewhere around 3rd to 5th in this tournament - this year, I could easily not even make the money, as could almost every other player in the tournament (save maybe a few).

I'm curious how others judge the field in comparison to years past. I didn't think it was even close!

Look at this field! WOW....Nobody has to like drawing Ed Hoden, Matt Tetreault, Bill Dunsmore or Matt Krah either, and Zion Zvi could be trouble. I am with Steve on this, I think maybe Don doesn't know some of these guys, this is a overall very strong field compared to years past. Dennis is correct, its muderer's row!

Thank you Peter Burrows once again for all your efforts and for keeping our great game alive and well.

LIKE I SAID THERE ARE SO MANY GREAT PLAYERS HERE I DONT KNOW ALL OF THEM.I BELEIVE THAT UNLIKE LAST YEAR ITS $250 PER ENTRY FOR EVERYONE HOWEVER I HEARD THAT IT WAS $100 FOR SOME PLAYERS DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS.i LIKE THE $250 PER PLAYER AS IT HAS MADE THIS TOURNEY REALLY STRONG.

Peter made it 250 for who he considered a pro and 100 for amateurs, but I think he limited the amount of 100 entries. I think he was fair in doing this.

Its going to be a great tournament, there are 25+/- players in this field that can run out at anytime. I don't know how you would seed these groups with this field, might as well just put an amateur in each group then random draw the rest.

I think Peter's going to have to take the weakest 5 players and put them each in their own group. Too many high level players to separate so I guess it'll be split the bottom 5 and draw the rest.

I don't care who is in my group other than it would suck to have Danny and Steve in my group as we all play in the same room.

I don't believe I would be in the top 16 seeds in this field. Thanks for the vote of confidence but it is one scary field. I'm playing well but it's going to be one tough tourney.

My buddy is playing and shelled out $250. Peter knows he is not a pro so I don't think anyone was charged just $100.

The field is stacked and I am sorry I have a golf tournament at the beach or I would be attending. Maybe I can get back for some of the late Sunday action though.

Bobby, your list is good but Ed Hodan has to be in there. I'd consider him one of the favorites.

The one thing that concerns me is the possibility of the last two matches being a bit subpar. There are a lot of rounds being played against top flight competition - it's such a mental drain over only two days. You see it even in the world championships; guys who were running hundreds earlier in the week all of a sudden can't muster 7s. Straight pool is a very demanding game and I've seen more sloppy finals in 14.1 competition than I have in 9-ball. Telling, isn't it?

The tables are also going to get a lot of play and there are likely to be a lot of spectators in the room for those last matches, making conditions more sticky. Might be tough to open the racks.

All this said, I'm hoping someone proves me wrong and puts on a nice show...

Steve,
I guess I thought the field was about the same as before. They added a few very good players; but subtracted possibly the 2 best 14.1 players in the world. As I look at it now, the depth of field does definitely seem a bit stronger (actually I am familiar with most of the entrants); but the top seemed a bit weaker without Thorsten and Mika. Anyway you look at it, it will be a GREAT event; I didn't mean to criticize (hell, I'm not qualified to criticize, even if I had wanted to). If I win even one match, I will be quite satisfied.

Not only are there a lot of strong 14.1 players in the field but I've never seen this many Dr's in one tournament!

Hey... Just noticed no Ed Deska. Anyone know why he's not playing? This is his neck of the woods.

Anyone notice how the average age of entrants in 14.1 tourneys seems to be decreasing?? Another great sign for this game...

Here's hoping Steve Lipsky is the guy to put on the show. Wouldn't that be something?

I hear there is a new person in the event. My buddy had to bail and Peter has a replacement already. I hear he is a 100 ball runner. I can't wait to find out who it is.
