 $50 entry fee. $75 for pros. Players must have paid their entry fee by 10 a.m. on the day of the event.

 Limited to first 64 paid entries – no refunds or transfers

 Races to 7 on winner’s side and 5 on one loss side (6 and 4 if more than 48 players). Finals is a race to 9.

 Texas Express rules apply. Lag for break. Rack your own. Alternate breaks. 30 second shot clock, if required. All decisions by tournament director are final.

 Tables are 9 foot Brunswick Gold Crowns and Diamonds with Simonis 860 cloth

 Delicious food served all day and night

 Free spectator admission!!

Never been here before. But heard lots of good stuff!!! I will try to make it at least to watch.

The tournament just finished up with Shaun Wilkie finishing first and Brett Stottlemyer coming in second. Full results to follow in the near future.
 
2013 Maryland Open 9-Ball Championship Results

June 15, 2013 – Shaun Wilkie repeats as Maryland Open 9-Ball champion.

Despite the lure of perfect outdoor weather, thirty players came out to Big Daddy’s Billiards in Glen Burnie Maryland for the 2013 Maryland Open 9-Ball Championship. The event was played on 9 foot Brunswick Gold Crown and Diamond tables. The format was double elimination races to 7 on the winner’s side, 5 on the one-loss side, and alternate breaks.

The early rounds saw no upsets and most of the top players steadily advancing. By mid-day it became apparent who was on their A-game as players such as Alan Duty, Steve Fleming, Andy Hatfield, Shawn Jackson, Rafael Reyes, Brett Stottlemyer, Shaun Wilkie, and Gary Wong emerged from the field on the winners side. Competitive matchups between some of these players saw Reyes prevailing against Jackson, Wong winning versus Fleming, and Wilkie coming out on top against Duty.

Later in the day, Shaun Wilkie sent Gary Wong to the one-loss side while Brett Stottlemyer did the same in his match with Rafael Reyes. This set up the hot-seat match between Brett and Shaun. These two were evenly matched up to 3 games all when Shaun claimed the next 3 games to reach the hill. Brett came back to win the next 2 racks but Shaun broke and ran the next game to advance to the hot seat.

Meanwhile, two players were blazing a trail on the one-loss side. Shawn Jackson and Rafael Reyes easily moved past their opponents until they met for a rematch. Shawn reversed his earlier loss to Rafael and moved on to face Brett Stottlemyer. Brett came out the winner there to set up the championship match.

The final between Brett Stottlemyer and Shaun Wilkie was a single race to 9 games. The match started off with the players evenly matched until the score was 2 all. Shaun then moved 2 games ahead but Brett quickly pulled the score back even. Play continued until the match was tied at 5 games each. At this point Shaun put on a charge that saw him take the next 3 games to reach the hill. Brett claimed the next game but Shaun finished out the following game to win the tournament. Congratulations to Shaun Wilkie for successfully defending his 2012 title by winning the 2013 Maryland Open 9-Ball Championship.

I wanted to write a couple of words.....

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who showed up to play and those who came here just to watch!!!! Thank you!! :thumbup:

Also, I wanted to give a BIG CONGRADS to "SHAUN GET-SOME WILKIE" for finishing first place and taking title of

2013' MD STATE 9 BALL CHAMPION!!!!

Second place and always a great player Brett Stottlemyer!!! Good job Brett!!!


I looked around and seen alot of great matches going on and wish i would have been able to play but I was not feeling well at all....but tommorrows anoter day.

Anyway, i also wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU TO GUY YATES AND DEBBIE DAVIS!!!! For there constant help in running and directing our tournaments here!!! Thanks again!!! Rick & Cindy!!!

Remember...our tournaments here are ALWAYS ON THE 3RD SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH!!
