Measle ball is a training ball

If you're into spinning the CB and pay attention, the dots help you pick up added or subtracted English depending on inside or outside desired spin and which side of the OB you're hitting.

Collision induced spin isn't only about the OB.

Wanna perfect your shape? Pay attention to the CB spin off the OB. And what thickness's of hit generate more or less spin.

Hard to put into words. Just pay attention and record in your mind. Do the same shot over and over and over......

Sounds like training to me in the form of visualization and the dots for aiming.

I hate to play with them because not only is it a training ball but it takes away the fun and anticipation after contact. With a regular ball you can only see how you are doing after the shot. With the measle training ball you can see what you are doing at all times. It is much harder to play with a regular old school cue ball. Some people have told me it was made for television and some people tell me it helps them play.

I tested this idea by playing others who rely on this training ball. The results are just what I expected. They can't see what they are doing with sloppy shape. In my opinion players are too reliant on this ball.

Your thoughts on this ball and it seems to be the default ball amongst players. I only use it to practice and when I play someone I swap it back to the regular ball.

How many of you play with the ball fulltime?
This is a bit silly, it's not a training ball, and I have never seen anyone that has experience in playing have issues going from another ball to a measles one. You can see what you are doing only after the hit, based on the spin, not before. But you can see what you are doing the same with any ball, since you will see the result of the shot and how the cueball reacts.

I have no idea how it will help you practice past the beginner stage where you need to show someone what spin looks like.

The fact that this is a controversial topic or the reaction I get says a lot. I'm just saying it is a training ball and look how many people come in defense of it or felt offended. Reactions says a lot.

One of these are not alike. I will just stop there.

This reads like a flat earther or creationist posting pictures of un-related things with some small similarities trying to make a non-existent connection. It's not a controversial topic you are just way off base on it.

Earth is round my friend.
I'm not sure you understood the connection I was trying to make. You're also, for some reason, thinking that because people are disagreeing with you you are correct, like this is some sort of government conspiracy that everyone is in on except for you, so the fact that everyone is saying one thing shows the fact that you're correct. Why would they be saying this is wrong unless it was actually right and they're trying to keep me from knowing the truth LOL.

Or more likely, they played worse because most people play worse when competing versus playing by themselves/playing on familiar equipment.

One of the best lines about the cue ball came from McCready, when using the then new measles ball he missed a shot and said to Buddy Hall "I guess I hit the wrong polkadot", Buddy cracked up LOL

I only use a measle ball at home but never when I'm out. Never really noticed that it made a difference on how I shoot when I'm out
