Sell em? No, she gave me a monster bag and I shared it with Dave, his girl, Ryan, Pete & Sean. Pete will let you in on the Voodoo secret, HAHAHAHAHA!!!

So Dave has a girlfriend--hmmmm I guess I'm out of the loop. You gave up on our verbal tennis match. I know you I'm sure and I can see you already know me. Those were the days, such good times!

I plan to get with Pete next week--the grasshopper (my son) needs a better and longer cue as he is 6'2". I also have an idea I want to run by Pete for another Omen cue for myself. I will then discover the identity of the Voodoodaddy!

So skippy, would you like to play some cheap 9-ball at the Golden Cue--as Buddy Hall told Keith MacReady "why don't you bring your little sack of money and you and I can play some!" US Open 1978
I think I can manage to get to the Golden Cue.
Who else would you recommend for a game? Except for Dave, Bill, Catfish, Bucky, Roy, Glenn, Jeff and one pocket Rich...

For what its worth the first year of the Florida Tour was 1988. There were 11 stops including The Golden Cue in Melbourne in january 88. Tom Brown beat John DiToro in the finals.

Both Johnny D and Tommy were the resident pros at Peg's Pocket in Miami. That was one great pool room to learn in. There was always action there and all different levels of play from bar drunk to world class.

The first year of the Fl Tour was 1988? That cant be right. By that time I was already in school in California and I distinctly remember there being some sort of Florida tour running before that. I dunno though, maybe I was killing off too many brain cells in college and things are no longer connecting in the ol gray matter.

Arm9baller I need a translation--since I am a poolplayer and not a computer person I do not know what your abbreviations mean.

And you think I'm brave, why is that? Cuz I'm a girl? I've dropped enough hints for you to know that I have been in the pool world longer than Skippy has been on this earth...is that brave, just the facts man!

I already named the worldbeaters in Melbourne...I ain't askeered and I'm willing to make a friendly wager.

LMAO=Laugh My Ass Off.
As far as world beaters, they are far from that. Bill and Dave MIGHT be the only ones of that Caliber. Roy is coming back into his old self also.
Does it really matter how long you have been a poolplayer to show how brave you are?

I havent seen Roy in years and years. The last time I saw him we played at Harleys place in Jax in 93 and I dogged an easy combo on the nine double hill for 2 cnotes. I got so mad I broke the butt cap on my cue blasting it to the ground.

I thought Favor moved away from Mel-boring.

BTW you missed naming one great player ...Doc (Carlos). Doc plays jamup, especially in that lil pool hall in Cocoa.

Carlos never plays in Melbourne. I sold his home pool table for him some years back and he didn't even drop a penny to me! Roy has been lurking around daily.

--my bravery comes from the fact that I don't know Skippy, that he makes his living with computers (an honorable career) and he is young.
You on the other hand I am afraid of since you are filipino!
As I previously mentioned--I said cheap!
Does you boss know you are playing on the internet on his dime?

You forgot Jimmy Sandaler.
Yeah him too--he has had 2 car accidents and he is in pretty bad shape. I don't think he can play for very long cuz of the pain.

No. I'm at home waiting for something to do.

And yes I did forgot about Doc and Eddie Wheat for that matter.
BTW Eddie is about to come out with his own line of cues so look out for them. I broke with his break cue that he made. It's no joke.

The best that I can gather from my old Billiard News, is that the official "Florida Nine Ball Circuit" started Jan 1988. However their is reference to a Florida league and Florida Grapefruit Circuit in 86 and 87. I know that there was a lot of rooms putting on weekend tournaments while I was stationed at Homestead Air Force Base, 1983-1988. Anyway we can all agree that it was some tough action. A who's who of pool players participated.
**I remember Peg's Pocket fondly. Had a lot of great memories and met a lot of great people! I went there 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Big Steve, little Steve, Tom Brown, Mark "Block", Tony C, Allen, Dan Christian, Bob Nardone, Tony Ellin, DiToro, Cryin Brian and yourself Dave. Now as far as you killin off brain cells........

I bought a cue from Big Steve in the early 80's I still use it as a break cue daily. Yep those were the days-the Golden Cue tournaments were not part of any circuit, just tournaments. I do remember a big tournament in tampa at the hilton in 83--i remember cuz I had to fly down 14 flights of steps with a baby in my arms due to a fire alarm. Good pool tho.
Stay cool, play pool.

Mark Block...the human move. I still remember him as one of the first guys I beat for a decent chunk of change. After we played He tells me hey I know someone that can get you a cheap price on this expensive piece of electronics I wanted. So together we go down to the Cutler ridge mall. He asks me for $400 and says that he needs to talk to this guy alone. I hesistated as alarm bells started going off in my head and then he pulls out his car keys and says , hey dont worry I'm not going anywhere without you and my car. Ok I say and hand over the money and take this key ring.

An hour later with no Mark Block in sight, I wander back into the parking lot and his car (and my $$) are gone. I eventually recovered part of the money and learned a valuable lesson.

You sure can learn alot at the pool room.
