Metal ferrule

The idea of a ferrule is to strengthen the end of the shaft, but to also transmit the"feel" of an all wood shaft. A steel or other metal ferrule might provide strength, but would not provide the "feel" you'd get with more compatible ferrule materials and a wood to wood cue.

Actually that is not true, but is public perception.
Ask any one that has hit with a cue with our tip system on, and they are all surprised at how it hits. Most say , wow, that is not what I was expecting.

That's my point actually. There is absolutely no doubt it would completely change the hit of a cue.

Someone the other day asked me to put a wrap on a PINK cue. I told him it would cost more to do it right than the cue is worth. He said "just wrap right over the butt. NO need to put a wrap groove in it.."

I'm no Thomas Wayne, but I have done enough things in my life that caused me grief to know when to say no....

Adding "bling" to a cue is something for someone else....

It doesn't matter

Who cares, if I buy a McDermott factory seconds shaft for $25 and throw one of these things on it... How in the heck would I know it changed the feel of the hit. We have about 10 production cues and a couple of customs and even a few more extra shafts. What's another one? We even have a pink cue with cute little kitty from Players.

I have no idea why anyone wants to put any linen or leather wrap on a cue. It doesn't improve the hit of the cue. But I suppose some folks just like it.

You can put on all the 30.00 shiny whatevers you want, they are yours. How many cues have you made for other people?

I'm not putting on anything I don't believe in. None of my customers buy 25.00 shafts and then spend 50.00 to put a big piece of metal on the end, because I won't do it. Last night a guy asked me about retapering his cue and putting on a new tip. He wanted more english. I looked at his tip and simply suggesting I reshape the dome...for free.

BTW. How exactly would YOU pitch one of these to a customer?

One more thing. How many of the ferrules in question have you purchased?

As the inventor of the Snapshot™ Ferrule I've been watching these posts carefully and with much interest. I do understand that there are those who will not accept change or progress no matter what. And that's OK. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However giving a product a sound thrashing before even seeing, feeling and trying it, and then belittling someone who asks for an opinion, is beyond my comprehension. It would have been polite to just say "you can never convince me and I wouldn't install one, but to each his own".
There are many great old school and new school professional cue makers/repair persons out there and thank God for them. They will always be cherished. I only hope there are enough out there with an open mind for new products. And to those who do, here is an opportunity to increase your business by offering to install and promote this new ferrule.
To those who think this ferrule might be worth a try please visit my website CueFerrules.com for discounts up to 20% and free shipping to US addresses.
And to you JuicyGirl...You Go Girl!
Thanks,
Terry

She asked the WWW for their OPINION. I saw some sarcasm, but no thrashing or belittling.

When I purchased my Glock, the gun store had a gold and chrome plated pistol. Apparently, a niche of people think they are cool. I, on the otherhand, didn't need to TRY IT OUT in order to know that I wouldn't be buying one.

Someone asks me an opinion on something, they are going to get the reason I feel that way. Isn't that valuable feedback for you sir?

I'm not trying to be rude, just honest.

There are claims on your website about the advantages that don't add up either. If you'd like to PM me I'd be happy to share my observations with you....

Interesting note about tapering shafts smaller to get more english. I just made shafts for 2 local players that are 13.3mm and 13.4mm. They look and feel like broom handles but both of these guys get full table draw and lots of english with them. It's hard to convince players that it's all in your stroke...........

I told him basically the same thing. His reply was that he used other players thinner shafts and did better with english...

I'd suggest doing a little history research on pool cues and the invention of putting the ferrule on a cue. A metal ferrule is nothing new. You'd know this if you loved pool and cues. The only way I'd ever use that ferrule is if it were given to me for free. Don't ask me to provide the information, because I don't save websites, but someone else may be able to provide the information.

Where did I say I invented the metal ferrule? I am the inventor of the Snapshot™ Ferrule. Big difference. I suggest you do your own research on inventions and patents to help you clarify the differences. BTW an awful lot of research, time and money was spent to get to this point.
However I thank you for being willing to try Snapshot™ if it were given to you for free. Nice try but no cigar, but you can get a discount if you check the website CueFerrules.com.
Thanks,
Terry

I don't remember stating that metal ferrules are new or that I had anything to do with inventing them. Perhaps you misunderstood. I am the inventor of the Snapshot™ Ferrule. Big difference. I suggest that you do your own research on inventions and patents to help you clarify the differences. BTW I've spent tons time and money on research, development, prototypes, testing, patent and trademark fees, advertising etc. to get this far. I wouldn't spend part of my life savings on something I didn't believe in.
However, I am happy to see that you would be willing to try a Snapshot™ Ferrule if it were given to you for free. Sorry, but if you visit my website CueFerrules.com you can get a discount of up to 20% and free shipping to US addresses. I do hope you will give them a try.
