Meucci, Another Joke

You can't assume that people who say Meucci's aren't good haven't had any experience with them. Just face up to it and say that you know things were spotty in the past and you can only speak about the current cues.

I had my own period where my former cases, Instroke, were not built the right way and I just got through it by fixing and replacing the ones we could and kept making them better. Even though I am not there any more Instroke is still a strong brand. Meucci is also still a strong brand and if the cues are good then you can bounce back. Realize though that the people on forums will eat you alive if you try to rewrite history.

No sir I would never try to re write history. I have admitted my knowledge of the spotty era, it is when they was in Sledge MS. I don't assume that people who say Meucci's are not good don't have any experience with them. I an apologetic if I came across that way. I am saying this, I know for a fact when I was road playing in the past and selling a few Meucci cues here and there I saw people playing with flea market cues trashing Meucci, I would bet anything that they never played with one or had a close up inspection on one. I will be the first to admit that things got hairy for a little while but I also re assure that things are turned around now

Seriously. Bob has had many ups and downs with his cues over the years.

They should have never reissued old cues and designs without designating them accordingly. I know its up to them, however IMHO it totally without consideration for the Meucci collectors that eat the older stuff up.

Bob has left a lasting impression with designs, and models and lines, and variants to "stock" cues and in a way he has been a 1980's/90's version of Palmer cues. Granted no one really tries to make Meucci tributes, which is a shame there are some designs that absolutely deserve "tributes".

Love him or hate him, the guy has really helped the sport of pool, he sponsored pro's, tournaments, etc... I don't think there was any other cue that could say won more championships from 1986-1996 give or take.

I had a Meucci JR-3 and I purchased it in 1987 with a Fellini Ostrich case. Best deal ever and I played with it for a year until I got a custom. I don't think you can count how many people started with Meuccis and then went to customs. Almost everyone I know had a Meucci. Whether they admit it or not, that is a different story.

Except for the part about remaking older designs I agree with all the rest.

And I hope that Bob can come back and make Meucci a great brand again.

I did design the MTC-4,I have the original drawing I faxed to Bob.Bob designed other cues to go along with this one and they became the Metalic Series Cues. He also used the same design and added some scrimshaw work in the butt and joint and it became the 25th Anniversary cue.I have number
00 of 25. I have an MTC 4 playing cue, a jump/break cue and a jump cue.
The birdseye version of this cue was Bob's idea.

Best Wishes,
