Meucci, Another Joke

Like what? I am sure all the Meucci customers will be very interested to know what extra steps went into Buddy's cue that didn't make it into theirs?

Well the tapper of the shafts are not standard for one thing. The real majic was that Bob built it him self. There you go

I think we need this thing on Pawn Stars so that Rick can call in an expert and we can see what it's really worth. :p

I hear you. Here is the thing though. Most of us in this business who sell or sold production cues like to have the pros using cues that are as close to stock as possible if not completely stock. It doesn't send a very good message if the cues that the pro uses are way different and even "better" than the stock cues.

I personally wouldn't be too happy to know that Buddy's cue plays way better than my stock Meucci or that it was made with far more care.

This is part of the reason people don't believe professional endorsements. They feel that they aren't getting the same cue that the pro plays with.

Yes sir I see where you are coming from, here is the deal. The cue is fitted to Buddy Halls liking, the taper, tip, diameter and so on. Bob is not going to make a cue exactly like one of his sponsored players uses and sell it to the public. However you can buy the exact cue only thing is that it will be a standard production cue. If you would like then yes you can go to the Meucci factory in person and have your standard cue fitted to your liking. Of course that cost more money!

150$ on pawn stars

If he can break & run 2 racks it'll be $150

If he can't it's obviously not that good of a cue and it'll be $100. He'll have a rough time selling it even with a letter from Buddy as well as a picture of him with it.

Duh!

Handwriting expert won't be familiar with Buddy's signature(if he's even heard of him) and will say the letter is a fake.

75$ now......

Well, I will have to agree. Other than the shafts being tapered different, this cue is no different than the others that come out of the plant. But I won't ever buy a Meucci again as I lost all respect for them when they started using the old logo again. Total con job. I would pay more than 100 for any Meucci now. Just my .02.

They destroyed there name by selling junk for to many years. I feel bad for the sucker that pays that for this cue. He will never see a return on his investment. You can put it right up there with meucci masterpiece series they made 20 years a go .$2000 cues that the blue book of cues listed as worth a grand if it was never played with in it's original bag. A friend sold me his old Schon to buy that..I made a tight profit off that schon and he got fleeced lol Good luck with your sale and sleeping at night.

The tapers are different? Three shafts? Ill gladly sell one of my cues, turn the shafts on my buddies lathe for that "special" taper and have some pro sign it. It'll be a deal, $3000. Save $500! :D

MM, maybe you can tell us why Bob began reusing the Original logo. When we spoke with Bob years ago, this clearly wasn't in the plans. I think it's a poor decision and cheapens the legacy of the brand imo.

buddy

Well nothing to do with the cue but a Buddy story I always liked is that he once won 8 tournaments in row with 8 different cues. Bludworth gave him a cue and when Buddy won he would sell the cue to a fan and Blud would ship another one,

I believe your story John. LOL

I am not a fan of the old logo being used however one of his customers asked for it and he did it. I would not have done that, you wouldn't have done it either! But ultimately that was Bob's choice

Is Bob mad that he spent all that time and made a special cue for Buddy and 6 months later he is selling it? isn't that a slap in the face? I would think so.

Well since you asked, no Bob is not upset about it. Under the circumstances Bob is okay with it. Anyone that knows what Buddy has been through lately will know what I am talking about.

Buddy offered his "Gambler" Meucci to me at the DCC this year for $1000. He was shooting with it in the One Pocket division.

I agree. I bought an 84-8 new when they came out with 2 shafts and no coating on the wrap. After they stopped using the Original logo the butt cap cracked. Don't know why. I baby all my cues. I sent it back to Meucci through the local dealer to be repaired and decided to have the wrap replaced at the same time. When I got it back it had the new logo on the butt cap and the wrong wrap. The excuse was "we are out of that butt cap" and "we were out of that wrap". I was pissed. I sent it back and they did it right the second time. I was not happy to see them start using the Original logo again. I believe, as do many others, that their quality has slipped and the old Originals are better than anything they are doing now.

I can see where some might think this is an insult, but it's really not. When you give a gift to someone, it's theirs to do with as they please. Common convention says you keep the gift, but it's not a law.

When he presented the cue to Buddy, did Bob say, "You can have this cue only if you play with it forever and ever, and never sell it"?

Furthermore, why did Bob give the cue to Buddy? Just out of the goodness of his heart? Or was there a little self-promotion and advertising motive?

The next thing they will bring back is the little nipple bumple. The whole thing was a sales ploy to try and bump sales. The Meucci name means shit in my dictionary. Plain and simple. I will never buy another unless it comes free with another cue I purchase. Sorry, but they are junk.
