Well I finally received my meucci carbon pro I ordered ....gosh....so long ago I am not sure but at least 3 months.. Now i realize that is not a long time in the cue making world but I was seeing players with shafts and read on here about people having them already so I guess I was a little impatient.
Well I did special order mine with ring work to match my current gambler I have had for around 5 years. I was requested to send a picture of my ring work so they could match it.
So I get a text yesterday from my friend who I purchased it through and agreed to meet today at the pool hall to pick it up. Well I am disappointed in the outcome . The color of the dice on the shaft is lighter than what's on my butt. I showed it to several players I know and some dont think its a big deal and one who did not thought that the dice don't exactly match up when screwed together was a bigger deal than the color. They are off about a quarter inch and that does not bother me considering its impossible to match up exactly without having the cue in hand when doing the ring work on the shaft.
Well cosmetic issue aside on to the important parts. I am very happy with the joint alignment which concerned me due to a friends meucci carbon pro shaft being slightly larger than his butt. Mine is also but its very slight compared to my friends.
I am also very happy with how it hits. I shot several racks but stayed mostly to center ball as I did not chalk it in case I decide to send it back. I noticed a couple 7/9's trying out a carbon pro on another table ....making various shots at various speeds and asked them what they thought of it. They both said it shoots exactly like a revo only softer. The same opinion I had when trying one out before ordering mine.
I just need to contemplate if the lighter color rings bug me enough to go through the hassle of sending it back and have it redone. It did not seem to bother some I talked to but its not their cue and I may be more anal than they are about cosmetics lol.
I did not save the picture in my phone I sent so i really dont know how well the color showed and they just may have matched it correctly according to the picture...just giving them the benefit of the doubt so to speak..
