Meucci ferrules

Anyone have a source for the newer style Meucci ferrules? I could use a few.

Thanks,
Rodney

I may have a few, probably from around 5-7 years ago if that's what you mean by newer style. They are the replacements for the old ones that used to crack all the time. Would have to check.

Where are you in Mass?

Just Curious!?

I'm really not sure what kind of plastic they are/were made from but, they remind me of PVC ferrules!?!?!?

I'm in Templeton.

The ferrules are capped, with almost a translucent appearance. I believe they are on the power piston cues???

A friend brought me the shaft with no ferrule, and the tenon is tapered at the top. The customer doesn't seem to know what was on there.

I'm only guessing it was a capped ferrule.

Any meucci experts out there?

What to do, what to do:confused: ???

im no meucci expert but them ferrules are junk put something 1 inch on it not 1 1/4inch. ive changed out plenty. thats the first thing i tell anyone that owns a meucci. change the ferrule

half them meucci ferrules are hollow with that pointed tenon thats why they crack

Yeah The MP is a good replacement for the old ferrules, but the new ferrules like the PP's have on them are of a different material. As mentioned already They are capped & hollow, similar to some other famous shaft ferrules.

I don't think my customers would like it much, if I shortened their cue by
1/4"...JER

The capped Meucci ferrules are an MP material and are made that way for a purpose. That is Bob"s way of lowering deflection. The reason they have less deflection than many other shafts is this ferrule is lighter and flexes more than a normal ferrule by it's construction. Changing to a different ferrule material or design will greatly affect the performance and "hit" of the cue. If you are going to change to a different style or material it is best to let the customer know ahead of time that the new ferrule is going to play differently.

You know you are probably right, and I stand corrected. The capped do still seem like a polymer material of some sort. I guess what I should have said was It seems like a different type then the older ferrules had, because the material seems alittle whiter to me, then the ivory looking MP did.

I aggree about It not being a good idea to make drastic changes without the customer's request. Even then I would feel it important to try and explain what changes in feel they will have, to make sure it's really what they want. I try to stick with the original designs as much as possible though.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I want to keep the shaft as original as possible, that's why I'm trying to find the ferrules.

I will see if he wants to send it back to Meucci.

He sends it back to Meucci, he might never see it again.
