i have been playing 8 balls for 4 years now, and i want to get my own cue instead of picking different ones every time i play.
i saw a special deal on a shop meucci but + 314 shaft for $322, the reason i want this is i won a small completion by using my mate's cue which has 314 with it. but i saw online that meucci dont do QC as good as others, my other option is Lucasi LHE10 which is the same price. my budget is around $350 could please give me some suggestions?

would it be worth to pay 100 more to get the ob cue with ob1 shaft if i cant find any shop can substitute shafts?

one other question is would it matter if i use cheap butt with high end shaft like OB, Z2 or 314, it is so confuse and hard to choose, i cant hop in any shops cos im in new zealand but i feel and shoot pretty good with my mate' cue.

any help will be appreciate.

Meucci or Lucasi?
I would go with the Lucasi.
I have had mine for 5 years and it still looks like new. Straight and not falling apart.
With that being said i do take very good care of my cue.

cheer pal, yeah i like lucasi to be honest, but the reason why meucci got me is it comes with a predator 314 shaft.:sorry:

yeah thats what i found, have you tried them?
i guest everyone is sleeping but you and me ?:grin::grin::grin:

Part of the reason for few replies is this type of question has been asked a million times, and there's no definitive answer.

From experience, I'd say the Predator shaft is vastly superior to the Lucasi, at least in terms of reducing deflection. If adjusting for deflection doesn't bother you, knock yourself out and buy any cue that you fancy. If it does cause you difficulty, get a Predator.

Although I'd generally advise against taking too much notice of recommendations, I'd say you simply cannot go wrong with a Predator Sneaky Pete. There are several in the for sale forum at the moment around the $250 mark. The ones with the stainless steel joints are generally considered better than the wood to wood. They play great for the money, and are truly low deflection.

i the azb store would substitute the shaft for me if i buy the lucasi hybrid, i think that is pretty much what i m going to do,
btw are they any good in the sale forum? 250 for a Sneaky Pete sounds pretty good, my mate is looking for a cue around 200 bucks.

is it any good? im in new zealand, buying a second hand cue is bit risky, it at lease cost me 100 to ship it here...
and now im between ob1 and predator 314

I love the rubber, I personally do not care to much for linen. the rubber feels great in my hand.

oh yeah i think i will stick with what it is save me 60 bucks!
its not a easy job to get a cue isnt it!! now is between ob and 314 shaft, man~~~

cheer for your opinion, i think i will stick with what it is then save me 60 bucks:P

Predator sneaky pete's are Predator sneaky pete's - should all be the same. Haven't tried the newer Roadline version yet, but the full splice green veneer cues (older) and the full spice red veneer cues (newer) play great, as good as any of the more expensive lines, such as the P3s, Ikons or Blaks.

Pred SPs are the best bang for buck in pool IMO.

Bear in mind Lucasi are the sister company of Predator, with both using identical uniloc joints afaik.

Oh right I'm abit concern abt the condition of them if they are second hand I cost me at least 120 to ship it to New Zealand and return sigh..... I might get the ob1 as predator is easier to get here....

Meucci has terrible customer service! Sent a stick in for repair and was lied to numerous times. He did do a good job! But will never buy or recommend a meucci. Just my 2 cents
