Meucci original 80-6 rebuilt....

I also have a older Meucci cue it's in much better shape than the original pictures you posted for your cue ha ha
It certainly is cleaning up rather nicely I enjoyed beating folks on any pool table with mine it won't be long and you'll be doing the same with this cue .

Looks great and you work fast. I shipped that last Tuesday. By the way, I only ship in PVC tubes. Added piece of mind for me. You are really giving that old girl some much needed love. I had a feeling it was going to look great when finished.
Well hello, I enjoy rebuilding cues. Sunday night I caught a pretty bad cold so I'm out from work right now. Prefect time to get the cue. Here's a look at what it might look like completed. Need to turn it down a little to get the leather to lay flat, but in coat 8 right now. The old finishes they used on these cues are nothing compared what's on the market today. This one might be staying in my collection for a while.

Here it is, all but the collar. All I have is 3/4 inch ones, need a 1 inch. Overall I'm very pleased the way the cue turned out. Meucci is going to build a shaft for it, thinking one that doesn't have any markings on it. The leather turned out so nice, cannot believe how flat it is to the cue.

Beautiful work. Please let us know how many months it takes to get your shaft made by Meucci. My first guess is 15 months and my second guess is never. Sorry Meucci, and I hope I am very wrong..

I've been waiting for Meucci to replace the collar on my extra shaft for over a month , now knowing what I do I'm thinking I should've done something different to get it fixed .
Very nicely done I certainly like the looks of it now compared to what it once was .

So it's 6 months to never to get a matching shaft from Meucci. Place in Lincoln, Ne. , which I have had do work on clues in the past can turn it around in 6 weeks. I have an extra Meucci Pro right now and might send it over there.

Just curious, are you using dedicated cue wrap leather? Looks a lil thick in the pics. Great job restoring these old classics.

Wish I would have turned the cue down just a little more, to make it a little more flush. The leather I've used has come in three different ways. One the pre-cut for cues, second form a leather company in town and third for a nation leather company. Out of those the leather company in town always has the nicest leather, fully anodized, high-quality and the best cost. Only thing is they sell larger pieces, normally pre-cut cue leather I can get shipped for 25 to 30usd. Buying larger pieces for 60 to 70usd nicer product but have to cut the piece themselve and get 4 to 5 wraps out of the amount. Cutting the leather really is not that hard.

Shafts also I sent one in to Meucci to get a collar replaced on the shaft and when I called it was as if they were doing me a huge favor by doing a simple repair , they haven't called me but I've always called them .
This is a one and done deal for me I won't be going back to them willingly .
