Meucci testing -vs- Platinum testing

What effect does the 1" longer shaft have over the normal length?

The other point to consider is...when have you EVER hit a CB at warp speed with so much english that you're at the very border line of miscueing in normal play..

D'maker,
I personally think that the longer shaft is slightly whippier and has slightly less deflection than the normal length Predator (I have a standard length shaft, and have compared them on many occasions - but no "scientific" tests).

I will also say that I OFTEN use radical inside or outside English, and OCCASIONALLY use the warp speed shots (in 9-ball, very rarely in straight pool). They are tremendous weapons to have in your arsenal - to be used as sparingly as possible. My instructor goes so far as to claim that all 100 ball runners have the capability to perform these shots, and that you must master them to be considered a top player. I have seen Efren (who I will admit is slightly better than me) spin that ball like a mother when he has to, but from his body language prior to the shots I believe he wished he didn't have to use such a shot. Right now my position play is so bad I bet I shoot 3 times as many of these as Efren does - perhaps I should go practice my position. I actually worked hard on these shots 2 years ago, and last night was just a refresher with some new little additions.

Sheez...I wonder where I went wrong...I literally NEVER use it. I think you're on the right track with your position play. That shouldn't be happening. I also have a 9 ball Q-Skills rating system. Let me know if you're interested, although I hate to corrupt you. Straight pool is really where it's at.

How did the greats ever play pool without pred or muchi? LOL Would Willie have run 600? Would the Babe have run 700? Who knows, only the shadow knows.

Rod
Babe ran over 700. Anyway I play with a Schon with a predator shaft. However, I sometimes go to the pool hall unplanned without my stick and there they have one of my break sticks, a Lucasi. Both sticks play differently, but after a few shots I seem to make the needed adjustments. There is zero change in my game. I almost think that it is good for me to play with different sticks sometimes, it makes me concentrate more. So deflection % doesn't mean that much to me anyway.

In the mid-80's, Bob Meucci said his shafts had zero deflection. Even back then, he didn't have the decency to ask a basic engineering student what "deflection" meant, nor did he ask what he was looking for.

Today, he's hacked together a "robot" that tests in a method that allows him to design a cue ferrule that defeats or maximizes the results of his robots.

IMO, the Meucci Myth Destroyer needs help. But Bob Meucci would never allow that.

;)I was intruduced to Bob Meucci at the Columbus 10 open in 1998 by Joe Salazar after buying a $2200 Paul Drexler cue from him,i had a questioned if the butt cap was ivory on this cue,he said that he wasn't sure and would ask Bob Meucci that he would know.Bob took a look at my cue and said that it wasn't and even if it was that it was a cheap piece of sh#@!t becouse Drexler didn't use plasticks like his cues and that ivory would crack,he told me this from his own mouth(in all my years i never saw a plastick Meucci ferrule crack though :D ),it was then that i knew this guy was an idiot.
Oh and my Drexler was ivory BTW!
