A friend of mine has a Meucci MTC-04 (Metallic series). He would like to add about 1-1.5oz of weight to the cue. It has no weight bolt in it now. What thread type does Meucci use for a weight bolt? Is it something standard I can find in a decent hardware store? And, if possible could you tell me the length of the screw I should get for that amount of weight?

Thanks in advance for everyones time.

Who knows? Over the years Meucci has used a number of different size studs and threads, sometimes coarse and sometimes fine. The only thing I've found consistent with a Meucci is the ........ quality.

Are you sure there's no bolt? Sometimes their in there pretty deep. If you have 5 inches of hole, you may be able to add an ounce if they are the headless 3/8x16.

I think the ones we have here are 9/16" the weight is 7/8oz and these are from Meucci.

We thought we were buying weight bolt kit from them like what is sold on Ebay Meucci weight bolt kit. They told us they only sell one size bolts now:eek:

If you can't find one and would like one let us know and we will send you one. It will cost you a VIP ticket to the next West Coast Cue Show

weight bolt

I'll try a 3/8x16.. if that doesn't work I'll give you guys Uncle Waldos! Thank you for the offer. If you can make it out here for the next West Coast Cue Show I will make sure you get a space. The next show is going to be even better!

I have several Meuccis from the Originals through the red dot shaft series. All of them have the 9/16" fine thread weight bolts.

Most hardware stores have all-thread rods in 9/16 fine threads. With a hacksaw and a little muscle power, you can cut any length/weight that you desire. Use the same hacksaw to cut a slot across the bolt and screw it in with a flat headed screwdriver.

Newer Meucci cues use a 5/8-11 headless grub bolt. The older "script" Meuccis use a 5/8-18 headless grub bolt. Most "Originals" use a 3/8-16 bolt.
