Predator Blak 4x8 Soft Case - the exterior is a very soft thin vinyl. In less than 6 months it started to peel. The sport version looked worst as when the yellow parts peeled it looked horrible. The interior flap Islas buttons that are not easy to close. You have to find the hole of the receiving end for the male button to latch to. Overall it's an ok case but can be improved greatly. For someone who doesn't go out and play every week the case will do fine.
Mezz MZ-48 4x8 soft case - the exterior is made of very durable suede like material. It attracts dirt easily but does not peel. It is very very durable. Efren Reyes and F.Bustamante has carried this case all over the planet in and out of cars, planes, hotels & pool room. Every time I see them the case holds its shape with no tears or rips. Although the case looks like it could use some cleaning it looks durable - battle tested.
The interior is turn-key. Very soft cloth material that has Velcro flaps. You can easily close the flaps over your cues with or without joint protectors. You can pull the cues out without opening the butterfly just the top portion because of the flap set up. You could do this with the Predator but the flap will not be locked or secured. The shoulder strap has aluminum buckles with quick release.
I've owned both and prefer the Mezz over the Predator. Both are light and very easy to carry around. Hope this helps.
