Mezz Power Break Shaft II (Sonic Tip or Samsara?)

I just purchasced the Mezz Power Break II (Ash) I love it but am curious about this sonic tip, it came more rounded then the break tips I'm used to shooting with, I can get great draw and control with it but am wondering if the tip requires any shaping or roughing up? I have been shooting with the Tiger Icebreaker shaft with a Samsara tip on it. Has any one tried another tip on the Mezz Power breaker or tried decreasing the radious to the shape of a quarter, I am a little worried about messing with this tip, should or can it be scruffed or sanded slightly to hold chalk better?
Thank you for any input,
Mike

Did you purchase it new? Sonic tips from Mezz usually come pretty flat. It can be shaped just like any other tip if you don't like the radius as well.

If you are referring to the Power Break Pro R shaft or the Power Break Shaft then I will second what "branpureza" said. However, the Deep Impact II shaft (this is the shaft that comes with the Mezz Kai) the tips are are actually pretty rounded and not as thick as the ones that come with the Power Break (PB), PB II and the PB Pro...With regards to shaping them, I don't have any input on this as I just play with the tip the way it is and I still get the results I am looking for and expecting. On my PB Pro, I have the H shaft and the Sonic tip started out almost flat. Since then it has shaped itself to the edge of a nickel.

I had a sonic tip replaced on my PB Pro before after it had popped off. The guy that replaced it also shaped it and made it more round (which I didn't want) so I'm pretty sure it can be shaped and/or flattened just like a regular tip.

The Sonic tip is quite nice, but needs regular scuffing to hold chalk well.
I prefer Taom tips on my break and jump shafts and I like the tip flatter than my regular playing tip.

Actually my sonic came pretty round (Nickel Radious)

It was rounder then I have ever seen a break tip, thats why I was asking about reshaping it, but know I have heard so much about this Taom Tip, I am vary curious. I google them and apart from a few AzBilliards threads no one seams to have heard of them. can someone please provide a link to where you can purchase one of these Toam tips?
Thanks for all the responses!

Read this thread and had to go look at my shaft .. lol

It is a deep impact pro - there is an H on the collar - not sure what that means - the shaft is a dark brown wood from the collar up about 6 inches - and it has a Sonic tip.

I like the tip and have done nothing to it, ever. It looks pretty flat to me right now, between fifty cents and a silver dollar I suppose.

I might take some 400 grit to it for better chalk adhesion ... Or perhaps bust 100 or so racks with it and see how it holds chalk at that time. Mine started to hold chalk better as I used it. But still a good idea.

Good rolls.

Samsara

I put a Samsara tip on my Mezz PBII a few months ago and I love it. I feel it has much more control now.

Thanks!

I will try and flatten out my sonic tip and if no results I will contact you about a Toam. Why is no one selling Toams, in the USA?
