I've been invited to do commentary for the Mezz SoCal Cup, a Mosconi Cup format pitting a team from Los Angeles versus a team from San Diego. It starts today shortly after 10 AM PST and there will be ten matches (all Races to Five) played today. I plan to be there around 1 PM to work on the afternoon matches. Ten more matches tomorrow, with an extra match if it ends in a tie. The players are mostly in the .600 range with each team having one player over .700 (Beau Runningen for L.A. and Victor Ignazio for S.D.), with two just under .600 and two who are over .600. The sides appear to be well balanced. It should be exciting and I understand there is a healthy side bet on the outcome.
