Mezz United Joint insert

Any cuemaker ever install a Mezz United Joint shaft insert before? I have an old warped Mezz shaft that I would like to take the insert from and install it in a shaft that has a brass 5/16x14 shaft insert.

i did the same thing with a warped mezz sahft. sent it to andy gilbert. he didn't do it because he said he thought it would weaken the shaft he put it in
