Mezz united joints and 5/16x14 joints

Hey guys and gals,

Just wondering....

Will mezz united butt joints fit a 5/16x14 piloted shaft?

Will mezz united shafts fit on a 5/16x14 piloted steel joints?

I've debated about testing out LD shafts and that pin/joint seems to be popular enough to test most of them out.

I tried putting a regular 5/16x14 shaft on a mezz united joint and it didn't screw on all the way. It stopped at the brass plug. I don't think I tried the mezz shaft on the standard pin.
 
I tried the same and I had no luck either,, I think it has to do with something is a different size in their pin at that point. Was gonna mic it , but It really didnt interest me that much. I was just gonna check for my Mezz Dual Force j/b cause I was gonna make up a extra shaft with all leather tip for breaking in BCA tourney's....<< ED
 
I use to own a Mezz with a united joint. I used a 314 with a 5/16x14 insert, and it fit fine. I had an OB2 with a 5/16x14 and it didnt fit. I think it all depends on the inner diameter of the insert installed on the shaft. If the inner diameter is too narrow, then the united pin will not fit. As for the United Shaft, it fits on a 5/16x14 lathe pin when i took it to be cleaned.

I've got a united joint shaft and it fit on my buddies schon no problem
 
if the pilot is too fat in the 5/16 x14 joint then it will not fit on the united pin, ie. schon pilot.

a predator with a 5/16x14 will fit with no problems.

my hp2 fits on a schon and joss with no problems
