Mezz vs Lucasi

In my last post titled "Wrapless Cue Makers On A Budget" I asked for advice on cue makers who fit this criteria & it was very much appreciated as I contacted each you all linked to but unfortunately most were about $200 out of my price range.

On an upside I have found both a Lucasi & Mezz both Wrapless & with an extension that when I convert the price from $ into £ they fit my price range, so what I would like to know is which brand would you all recommend for playability, durability & overall value for money?.

Mezz ftw!

The difference between Japanese made products vs the rest of the world is that they carry the builders' pride within.

To all custom cuemakers, find out what Mezz does for their finish coat, I have a Mezz cue that I bumped to things from time to time and the finish layer or layers are just too good to leave a ding.
It's good that I don't have to be OCD to keep a Mezz cue in new condition.

MEZZ. Lucasi isn't even close. I play with a custom cue right now and I would pick Mezz, OB, Predator, Tiger, Jacoby, etc. over lucasi.

There's no comparison between the two. Mezz are far superior to Lucasi.

I know everybody is going to immediately advise that you get the Lucasi, but I'm going to give a strong edge to Mezz on this one, popular opinion be damned.

Seems like unpopular opinion.

I can't compare the two, no experience with Mezz. That said I have been very happy with the built and quality of my Lucasi.

I replaced the shaft with an OB Classic Plus.

.02 likely less!

I've never played with a Lucasi, but I cannot say enough about the playability of my Mezz. It is an AXi 607 with Wavy joint and WX700 shaft. Great feedback and a soft hit that matches my playing style.

"Mezz vs Lucasi"

What??? How did Lucasi even enter the picture.......LOL!!!!

I'd also have a serious look at the Tiger cues.
Their wrapless are amazing.

I've never played with a Mezz but I really believe the Lucasi cue(s) are outstanding cues. Jacoby, Cuetec, Schon, Predator, Pechauer, Joss, Schmelke.....i'll take my Lucasi over them all the time.

Yeah I've switched to a mezz from a predator. Guess you can say lucasi's are a predator-lite? Real difference in feel and quality. The united joint has a real tight tolerance when screwed together, reminds me of a lambros ultra joint.

I think the Predator Road Line is very good.
No less a cue than anything Mezz that I have tried.
Granted I've never tried any of the top Mezz cues out there but
then again the Road Line is only about 400 bucks.

I would prefer not to compromise.
Wait a while longer and save up the extra $200

Thank you. I am just going by what they call it. Msp-cmr. I assume that means mezz sneaky pete curly maple.

I was sorta joking...I know "sneaky" is a style more than trying to fool anyone into thinking it's a house cue.

That is one gorgeous "sneaky" you have there! Sure can see why you love it. :)

If you're truly on a budget, then buy a Schmelke cue with an OB shaft.

Will be less expensive than the Mezz, just slightly more than the Lucasi.
