Mezz WD700 tip size question

Hello,

I am thinking of purchasing a new Mezz Sneaky Pete that is advertised on eBay and it come with a new WD700 shaft.

On the eBay they said that tip size on WD700 shaft is 12.8mm and on MEZZ official web site it is 12.5mm

Can anybody of Mezz owners confirm what is actual size of that tip?

Maybe they have different tip sizes...


Also can I use HybridPro II shaft with Sneaky Pete?

So far that I come across, they are 12.5mm, it might be slightly bigger.

My Hybrid II, measure 12.8mm.

What type of pin do you have for your sneaky?

The Hybrid wavy will match a 3/8-10 pin. I seen quite a few Phillippine player using them that way. But a 3/8-10 shaft can't go with a wavy pin in a Mezz cue.

If you got a 5/16-14, it should go in, its tight but no problem. ;)

Its me again.

One of the resellers told me that on all informations on that shaft they see 12.8mm as tip size.

Now im totaly confused!

Does anybody here own WD700?

I own a WD-700 shaft. The tip size is 12,55mm. I like the shaft because it has a real hard hit and good control to the cueball with less deflection like a Predator 314-shaft. The original leather was a LePro and I don't like the way this playes. I installed a hard Talismann Professional tip. Now it plays much better in my opinion. I think you can't go wrong with the WD-700 shaft.

In doing a quick web search, all I could find was 12.8mm on a few sites.

i bought one of the Japan only Axi-P models with WD700 and flat-faced joint with triple thread radial pin.cue is solid Purpleheart and plays great.the tip on mine is a little over 12.75mm.it is for sale also $275 shipped.comes with Kami tip.

Some people claim its 12.8mm and some its 12.5mm

Is it possible that they have 2 different shafts under same name?

The WD700 comes standard at 12.5mm tip size. It doesn't mean that the distributors can't order them in different sizes. The WD700's that I see here is at 12.5mm.

As to the Hybrid Pro II shaft, you can order one for the joint type of the SP that you will order. It's either United (modified 5/16x14) or Wavy (modified 3/8x10). HPII comes standard tip size of 12.75mm.

In Japan, they have far more options for a Mezz Cue. You can get a Pred 314 and/or Z shaft with the Mezz Joints United and Wavy.
