I just watched a YouTube video of this guy playing Dennis Orcollo even ten ball for the cheese. I watched a video yesterday of him spotting Efren playing ten ball also. He must be a monster player for the cash. I was just wondering why we haven't heard anything about him here in the states? This also brings me to my next question. The pool contingent from the Philippines is so strong and they come from a gambling culture so how do these guys match up. The ones that come to mind would be Ronnie, Efren, Francisco , Roberto Gomez , Lee Van, and of course Dennis Orcollo. Who are the favorites when they gamble? Maybe this is a question that Jay Helfert could chime in on.

I think he "could" be the next World Beater from the PI? Kinda Like Carlo Biato 3 or 4 years ago...Although Carlo hasn't exactly beaten the world yet. ...beating everyone in country....
It's a step up playing International players...when you have to fight jet lag...especially going East to West.
He's still...way too heavy with the cue...still playing "refined bar pool". Smacking balls all over the table?????

"Way too heavy with the cue?" "Refined bar pool?" 1st time I had the opportunity to watch Feliciano and I was impressed. He played with confidence and had several break and runs again Efren. Little to no hesitation and a good shot maker. Watching the match it was easy too understand why the Filipinos are hard if not impossible to shark. I finally had to turn the sound off as the roosters were driving me crazy. Flying East to West may be hard but for years I have seen Efren, Busty as well as others arrive early and stay in So Calif acclimating before large tournaments. So that is a specious argument at best. Feliciano is a good player who had a chance to beat Efren and was devastated at missing his chance, Very good match.

there are lots of michael feliciano matches there against top Filipino players. guy who owns the youtube channel is his friend. OR you can just type "michael feliciano" on youtube or ustream search. lots of interesting matches.
i've seen him play alcano live in a money game and he's good - a bit on the aggressive side though. but when he's got his game, he's really consistent. some say he's not ready for the international scene because he doesnt have a "tough pulse" yet. i dont know. =)

I think Orcullo still has to be the favorite right now over everyone in the Philippines.

Feliciano looks to me like he still has a ways to go to become level of player that Orcullo and Efren is. The comment about him being "heavy" with the cue seems about right. He powers the shots a lot and often gets lucky rolls by moving balls.

He gets a huge gold star for heart though. Yes I know he is staked but still it takes balls to get up in front of your friends and play Dennis or Efren and maintain your game. In fact we might only be seeing his "nervous" game against these guys. And if so then watch out world!

I think this guy is just being trained by his manager. Hence the match up with big names to see how far he can go. From the video he is either getting close or he was not considered a threat yet by the big guns. The reason the score is close, big guns are not stepping to higher gear yet.

it's a given that people bet for the players that you mentioned above. although there are a lot of young players who have developed guts to play against these top players. they push themselves to bring their game. they are aggressive. on the other hand, a lot of local veteran players still got it - Lining, Gallego, Andam, Luat, Didal, Gabica, etc. Their experience and pool strategy are way better.

You can say whatever you want about his game. Anyone who can give Efren the 9 ball has made it. IMO

Idk who said it . Maybe here or in the comment section of the video of him playing efren with the roosters. But I heard he is very confident if not overly cocky. Saying that efren can't hang with him anymore.

IMO Dennis is still the best in the Philippines and the world as far as rotational games are concerned. But the top tier players in PI are so close that anyone can win on their given day. Ronnie plays with the most confidence in terms of position I think. But Dennis just makes great decisions like his favorite player Ralf who Dennis named his son after.

Sorry but this guy does have some refining to do but yea... He will be there one day bc he believes he deserves to be. Drive!

my thoughts too. he should visit the US and expose himself to the pool scene there.

There are a dozen (or more) guys this speed over here who only the filipinos know about. KoyKoy is probably the best. He plays just under Francisco, Alex and Dennis. Every time I come I meet a new strong player. There are hundreds of hard core hustlers in the Philippines. If you beat a few people over here they will bring someone in to beat you. Been there, done that! :D

I heard the same from more than a dozen people. Damn! Thanks for the insight Jay...

It was also mentioned that getting prepared for the US Embassy Interview takes total preparation let alone getting granted a Visa. And the word is Extremely Difficult if not Impossible! Michael, Jeff De Luna and Jeff Diaz are among those.
