Michigan Rooms?

I could use some help sorting thru the rooms in Michigan. I've found tons of listings thru various sources but am having a tough time picking out what it is that I need.
And that would be;

The best 8 Billiard Rooms in the combined areas of
Grand Rapids
Kalamazoo
Battle Creek

The best 8 Billiard Rooms between
Lansing
Flint
Pontiac

The best 8 Billiard Rooms around
Detroit
North and East of Detroit

The best 8 Billiard Rooms around
South of Detroit &
Toledo

You can use these google maps to search these areas. Just punch in the city, state and billiards.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=l&hl=en&q=category:+Billiard+&+Pool+Parlors&near=Detroit+MI

All help would be greatly appreciated and needed!

You can post them here if you like or you can do it privately by emailing me at joetuckeraiming@yahoo.com

Thanks in Advance & Thanks to those that have already been helping me in their parts of the country.

I havn't been there to play in a couple of months, but In Grand Rapids, you will want to stick with the Anazah Sands, Both are open 24 hours, and you can always find action with Kirkwood or some of his buddies there. I always check both out and play at the one where the equipment has been kept up the best. That is usually the one off of beltline rd. In Kalamazoo, you will probably want to Stick to playtime billiards. I think there are two or three of them there. As for Battle Creek, I haven't been there for years. Hope this helped.

I guess I should have asked what size tables you like to play on.....lol

These are the only ones I can recommend...

Hall Of Fame Billiards - Warren, MI - Great room all around.

Diamond Mill Billiards - Flint, MI - Great equipment. All Diamond Pro tables. Prices are decent. Action is terrible. Unfortunately, this place is usually empty and it's probably going to close up when the lease is up in a few months.

Monday nights at the Blue Diamond in southwest Detroit. Usually a lot of action.

I lived in Lansing when I was a kid. We met when I was 14 and he was 13. We used to hang out together all the time as kids and, after I moved back home to California, we continued to hang out from time to time with either me going back to Michigan for a visit, or him coming to California for a visit. I talked to his dad on the phone a few Christmas's ago, but wasn't able to get a hold of Nate at the number that his dad gave me.

Nate is a very, very strong player and a nice guy.One time when I told him what I want from him in 9 ball he said``u don`t want to gamble and u just want to steal from the people``.My response to him was `` that is right, aren`t all these money games are to steal money from others?``Then he grinned.
There is a university professor by name Dolan, a one pocket player from Kalamazoo. If u go to One pocket.org you may be able to get hold of Dolan and I believe that he will definitely be able to give info on your friend. If u can`t let me know and I shall find out his hide outs.

Hey Joe,

I'm from the Lansing area, and a new room just opened up here about 2 months ago called RG's billiards (http://www.rgsbilliards.com). They have all new Diamond tables ( both 7 and 9 foot), all with Simonis 860, both green and blue. The room is still new and the tables are well taken care of. As far as action goes, it's a bit hard to say as I'm not a big action player. However, all of the regulars that I used to see at Grumpy's Pockets seem to be migrating up to RG's, and from the stories I hear them telling each other, there may be some reasonable action there, but, that's heresay from what I know.

Dustin

BTW, the 3rd eye stroke trainer is awesome, thanks for putting out such a nice product for such a reasonable price.

I'm sorry folks, I didn't even explain exactly what it is I was looking for or why in the billiard rooms. I've been working on a national tour idea for almost a year now (whenever I get the sparetime) and it calls for me to unite about 600 billiard clubs all across the country and it's called the American Billiard Clubs Improvement Tour. It doesn't matter at all if there is action there or not. I just to need rooms that are OPEN, would prefer they have at least some 9ft tables and might be interested in promoting the sport while improving their business.

Add
RG's and Blue Diamond SW Detroit to the list.
Thanks

Jackson

Joe,

Avenue Billiards in Jackson, Michigan is owned and operated by Randy Gattshall and his family. The room is very user friendly, but, only Valley 7' tables, no 9 footers. Good food, drinks and an ocasional wet t-shirt contest.

The Garage Billiards & Brews is well equipped with 20 some Valley coin-op barboxes, 4 Brunswick Gold Crowns and a 10 foot snooker table. Rick LeMaster has put a lot of time and money into the real "Action" room in town. Full service operation, food, drinks, etc.

Passing through from Chicago to Detroit? Stop in at both places, you'll have a good time.

Mike

Joe,

www.insideenglish.net

That is the website that has alot of michigan information, including rooms with names and phone numbers. There will be some that havent been mentioned already that are open with contact information.

GOOD LUCK!

I've tried to get other room owners in the Detroit area to have a decent tournament every month, so at least something is going on around here consistantly, other than your regular funky weekly events.

Guess what?.........I'm still the only one that tries anything regularly.

I'm always interested and I know Jamie would be in Battle Creek.

Well, as I've said, Diamond Mill Billiards in Flint can probably be crossed off of your list. To my knowledge, it's still open right now but probably won't be in a few months. It might still be worth a call, but I have a feeling Billy's gonna close up shop when his lease is up. At least that's what he was saying a month or two ago. Hopefully he changes his mind.

in grand rapids you'll want to add club north to you're list. they have 15 diamond bar box's also food and spirt's.

Joe T, My place would be interested in maybe doing something. We get more Toledo players in our tournaments than Toledo pool rooms. We also get quite a following from the Michigan area Cleveland, etc etc. My number is listed on my avatar feel free to call me. Matt
