Micro Mesh Polishing Pads

I am old fashioned, and prefer a vee block and sand paper. I find that the soft block abrasives do not make flat/straight surfaces, but just exaggerate the flaws, especially on model plane stuff.
They have their uses, like being able to polish an existing shape , instead of changing the shape they are fine. But most things I make, I am wanting to create the correct shape, not just polish what is there.
Polishing compounds and methods are certainly changing very rapidly at the moment, especially with metal polishing.

I'm no cuemaker but use them (and more coarse but softer ones) as refinishing tools for a variety of uses (used guitar necks, bringing out the shine in old wood or intensifying the grain, ...).

Did a proper and marvelous refinish on both my guitars and my Universal shaft that somehow got sticky and rough. Also use 000 steel wool (the finest) for some approaches.

I feel that sanding / polishing too fine does increase stickyness, though. Watch your sanding motion, though.

Cheers and have fun!

I have used them and have been very pleased. I use the ones from woodcraft.
