Mike Dechaine vs Yu Hsuan Starting Now 9:15 am EST World 9b

Tough out by Mike to go up 6-5. He had several long tough shots in the beginning before he could get in line.

Actually, it wasn't even the advanced division, but the plain ol' open with over 1000 entries. Him and his teammate got "lucky" and finished 1st and 2nd. After getting busted out, they claimed there was a translation confusion on the divisions, lol.

Mark Griffin came up with a settlement proposal since these guys were Grand Master caliber players and had no business being in the lowest division.

Sure the word "Open" is confusing, isn't it ?
Only in American pool leagues that Open is not Open

Mike stole a rack on Air Stroke's break to go up 7-5. Kevin missed a 5 ball back-cut.

Haha gotta love it, Mike inspecting his own rack.

Something funny happened on table 1. I think Johan Chua just shot over a ball a touched it at 10-5 for Yukio or he conceded the match, which is unlikely. Things happened so fast, I'm not sure what it was.

Mike with the illegal break...Air Stroke is at the table with a shot on the 1 but position to the 2 is not easy. Stream just froze.

Even Mike's chalking seems a little more calm and relaxed. Idk if it's his attitude change or watching Yu Hsuan play so slowly that's getting to him.

Mike breaks, pushes out, and after 47 air strokes, Kevin takes the tough bank and misses but leaves Mike end to end. Mike plays a good safe in return. Kevin makes a good hit but leaves a shot.

8-7 Mike. Great match, but I'm off to class.

Man. you really gotta give it to Mike. 2 or 3 years ago and he would've folded under these conditions, he's really rising to the occasion right now. Hope this translates to the World Cup of Pool and Mosconi Cup.

Dechaine could see the 2 ball after the break, but pushes out instead. Hsuan tries to bank the 2, but misses on the pro side. Dechaine plays a nice safe, hsuan makes a nice hit, but leaves Dechaine a shot and a fairly easy out. 8-7 Dechaine.

Both are playing well. Only one bad shot by Hsuan that i've seen so far.
