Once again, I will give my input and then get flamed.
Mike Segal, was a "hot new builder" and he got alot of press and his cues were very expensive and was bought up by folks that I really dont think understood. It wasnt unusual for this cue to sell for $2K-$3K when it was put out. This cue is CNC with very simple composite turquoise inlays.
The thinking was that Mike Segal was a terrific player and he "knows" what a great playing cue should play like.

And because he was a great player and knows how it should play, he would be a great cuemaker....

(Kinda like the arguement that the best players make the best coaches)
So people bought alot of these cues for the $2500 (about the price of Southwest at the time) and I was told they played okay to pretty good. But the designs were awful, simple and repeated. After the inital year or so and folks wanted to sell, nobody wanted to buy them.
This cue is along those lines. I had a friend that paid $1800 for one similiar and I think eventually sold it for $500 just to get rid of it.
Mike has the personality of many on East coast and is truly an a$$. I once looked on one of his cues at his booth at SBE and he told me I couldnt afford it....(yep that sells cues alright).
I would equate Segal cues to Dale Perry cues. Buy one if you can get one for less than $2-300 and play with it, if you like how it plays but dont expect to get your money back out of it.
