Was wondering what the buzz is with this new league that is supposed
to start up in a few weeks? http://www.gppaleague.com/

Also, what do you think about the handicap system?

What do you think about using this system to gamble with?

I am a B to a B+ player. I played my son who is a strong short stop.
We played a race to 5, 8ball, and I got 1 ball in hand whenever I wanted per
game and we went hill hill and I won. Not sure how often it will be that close.
But we are gonna try it more often to find out.

Thanks, in advance.

I dont know where u are located at, Tommy Kennedy

Was just at the 2014 West Coast Challenge in Tampa Bay, Florida.

I am on AZBilliards as 'ACEDONKEYACE' my real name is Mike Kennedy and I am the Area Manager for the GPPA for the Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties of Florida.

Tommy Kennedy is the Area Manager for the GPPA in his Home town areas of Southern Florida.

If u are in the Southern Florida area, send me a PM and I can tell you of a Tournament we will be doing before the start of the Official Launch that will give u a chance to play in a tournament as a 'Single' everyone will start with 3 balls in hand and we are conducting a Singles Tournament so people can play 8Ball with the GPPA and experience and learn and have fun and possibly win some nice Prizes in the process.

If u go to the New WebSite which is

GPPALEAGUEINTL.com

Join up now for no charge and they will put u on this info list and you also wont have to pay the $25 yearly membership fee that everyone else will have to pay if they sign up after May 13th.

Go on the website, we did some videos of Tommy Kennedy and I playing a practice match, so you can see how the game is played. You can see how even a Amateur player with a Physical Handicap can compete against a US OPEN Champion with GPPA HANDICAP SYSTEM in PLACE!!!!

Hopefully the video is up now, but no guarantees, we just filmed it on Saturday this weekend at the 2014 West Coast Challenge Pool Tournament that took place at the Doubletree by Hilton in Tampa Bay Florida.

Send me a PM if you have any other questions,

If the handicap system really makes it pretty much a "coin-flip" as to who will win each match, regardless of the skill level of the competitors, then I don't see why the league would be of much interest to good players -- other than sort of buying a lottery ticket on the big money available to some team.

So good players only want the nuts? How do you get better if you are not forced to bear down and play sometimes?

Well, for starters, not playing a joke league would make you better. Maybe small distance traveling to local amateur events? That'd be my thought. A league doesn't make you better once you're a "good" player.
