Mike Sigel

well, Mike Sigel went 7-0 in the round-robin, and then won his first round-of-32 match before going 2 and out. He let danny harriman come back from 80 balls down and I think it really got into his head because his losers bracket match was nothing special. After both matches he royally *****ed about how lucky his opponents were and how unlucky he was. He then continued to complain about "having to play perfect" just to win anything anymore (presumeably since the equipment has gotten quicker).

Sigel is a great player, no doubt, but he conducts himself in a manner that is detrimental to the image of pool. Basically a big baby with sour grapes. I was thoroughly unimpressed with his antics regardless of his sometimes brilliant play at the event.

Someone mentioned Max Eberle in this thread. He is the only undefeated player. He ran 114 against ortmann yesterday. His game is very impressive and his professional conduct is extremely refreshing after witnessing Sigel this week.

Matt, he didn't win 15 tournaments in a row, but he did win eleven times in a row when he reached the finals. He knew how to win fo sure.

I have a 9 ball accu-stats tape of Varner vs. Medina and the commentators are Jerry McWorter and Efren Reyes. Jerry is a big fan of Efren's and all during the match he kept asking Efren questions about pool. One question Jerry asked Efren was "Efren, Who is the best player you ever played?" and Efren answered without hesitation "MIKE SIGEL". Efren said Mike always ran out and he had the best cue ball! Mike's tournament record should speak for itself.

Mike Sigel is the Barry Bonds of pool...A great pool player but if you see enough of him you see what a jerk he is as a person...Thats why a lot of people and players do not like him...It's his whinning and complaining when he loses. Never stops talking. On and on and on....
Like Barry. A great natural talent but no bedside manners. Turns people off....Most people root for the nice guy...Not the sarcastic mouth....
This is Sigels problem...Was around him in Vegas last year and saw that he is a jerk...But. a great pool player...Or, was a great pool player....

Has he started complaining about the equipment yet?

Does the pope wear a funny hat, does a bear poop in the woods?:

They don't call this guy the mouth or the ego of the century for nothing?
He never shuts up. He is playing great, very strong, but his run at the top was over in 93, a decade ago when he retired and there is no going back in time for him.

His attitude is terrible, he blaims his losing his top spot on the equipment which is ridiculous, he just aged and others caught up to him. He like tiger has the biggest drive, or break, then one day a dozen have the same shot.
He came up on mali slow cloth and when simonis 760 came in, later to slower 860 he felt that let every one stroke with him. Wrong again. The only worse attitude I see and hear is Earls suffering from the same problems, getting beat by younger players coming up. Just to show you how nuts this guy really is, he is telling every one he wants not 21 oz slow cloth, but 29 oz. Pockets, 4 l/2" are too loose, even though in Vegas at Binions he did not play well on them blipping out balls. He wants 3 and 3/8" pockets, both of these ideas are so obsurd and stupid, they would destroy the game as we now know it. Thank God others are now in KT'S ear and he is no longer just listening to Mike who wants the equipment altered so he can win again and dominate. Sorry Mike, your're an old man, over 50 and your time has come, and gone, so get used to being a loser if you continue to play. Nobody every played better than Mike in his prime. His patterns, his position play was perfect, amazing to watch.
