Hello ,

My Son is looking at a Mike Stacy custom Brunswick sneaky Pete. The price seems right from the seller but we are not familiar with Mike and his work. Does he build a good cue. I see sone of his cues for sale in the 1009 range. Just wanted to get some feedback on his work before he buys it. Hard to tell by pic. Price is fair and he has been looking for a old house cue conversion. Thanks for any help we Appreciate it.

MS makes really nice stuff. A friend has a merry-widow that hits super good.

I have 3 of his cues. I really like the hit. He is also great to deal with!

Mike does very good work. I've owned a few over the years and bought an early one through indyq long ago.

How many sons and how many sneaky pete's are ya'll going to spend money on? How many sets of balls do you need?

I am Cue fan and enjoy collecting them and trading and so fourth. Lets just say it is a Hobby I enjoy . Yes I do play and enjoy playing with what cue I like at the moment. I also love Guitars , can you have to many , Hum My Wife often ask that the question for the last 30 years . My answer seems to still be no , you cannot have to many . I am a collector , I enjoy it . The thing about Me I could care less what someone else thinks if i like it then so be it . I have 3 Son's who are all into pool , It gives us time to be together and it means alot to me to be able to do that, My 2nd born has been wanting a old snealy conversion made from a old house cue and this one fit the bill and he bought it. I spoke with Mike on the phone and he is a nice guy took the time to answer my Questions and I Appericated that . We wiil see once it Arrives. I love the game of Pocket Billiards , i love Cues and can apperciate the craftsmenship that goes into it. It is a hobby for me. I know some here can't get past that and I know you only need 1 cue to play with , But I enjoy having a few differnt ones to play with .

With a FEW exceptions almost all the good players i've seen or been around used the same cue for long periods of time. Unless you are highly talented/skilled switching cues rarely helps things. The one big exception to this is Buddy. When he lived here in Tulsa he might use 5-6 cues in one day 'cause he always had a bunch to sell. He played the same speed, other-worldly btw, with every cue he pulled out. Find one you like and stick with that cue. Very few of us will ever play like Buddy or Efren, another guy who played top-gear with anything from a $15 pos to a hi-end custom.

Like I said for me it is just a hobby , like collecting basbeball cards or records or anything else. I play most of the time with one cue , but ever now and then I like something differnt. I collect them for a while and then flip them sometimes you make a buck , sometimes you lose a buck but I enjoy it. Most of us that have hobbys rarely come out ahead lol . Then again just having them sit in a closet or case not being played does not make alot of sense either. Eric Clapton said when he wants to buy a used guitar he wants one that looks played as it must have been a good guitar or th eprevious owner would not have played it very much .
