There is a REWARD for the capture of Mike Surber's killer!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike was a good guy and a highly competent one pocket player who never hurt anyone. He deserves better than this.
SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE, must have seen this guy before.
Come on AZB, look at the pictures and call the appropriate authorities if you have seen this guy. Smooth talker, big BSer, stories about being a recording studio executive etc, drinks beer, Big shot, dresses sporty, HIGH, HIGH Forehead, used to have an earring in his ear. SMOOTH TALKER, SLICK AS A CARNEY MAN.
He is described as a white male, in his mid to late 40s, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing 170 to 180 pounds. He has dark brown hair that he pulls back in a ponytail. He frequents bars and has a history of running out on bar tabs. Police say the killer should be considered armed and dangerous. He is unafraid to ingratiate himself with friends and associates of his potential victims.
If you've seen him, call Lt. Flowers or your local law enforcement agency. This guy, when seen doesn't stay around in one spot too long so act quickly.

Well I certainly hope that this low-life gets caught, it's most likely that he has killed before, and it is most probable that he will kill again.
I think that his face should be posted at every Casino, Horse Track, Dog Track & all Bus Staions around the country, in every restroom, and all waiting areas, among pool rooms & bars, these places would be most frequented by him because of the ease in which to stalk someone that is flaunting money, ect...... easy pickens to observe someone and follow them home or where ever.
Do race tracks & dog tracks have the camera facial recognition feature like the casion's?
This scumbag's face should be incorporated into all these places, and whomever it takes to get this done, needs to be contacted so it can be set up!
I haven't got a clue as to who to contact about this, but I do believe it certainly would aid in his apprehension!

Isn't there some kind of medium like Twitter or something like that where you can send someone's picture to everyone in your contact directory and a little note? Maybe one of the technologically advanced and motivated guys on AZB can make suggestions on how to get this guy's photo and a brief blurb and we could send it around via cell phone or whatever the latest and best medium is.
I know there are people working on the youtube idea and that's great. America's Most Wanted on TELEVISON is still a possibility. That would probably capture the SOB in 24 hours.
I did this on facebook. Anybody can friend me and then share the link with their sphere. I'll reshare it now so those of you who are in my sphere can just share it with your friends.

Maybe this is the route to go. I keep opening new windows every few months. I've contacted "the voice" of AMW and hope that he will respond.
I've just got one question for all of you AZBers. If someone murdered you, would you want the members of AZ Billiards to try and locate your murderer?
Please consider taking time out of your busy life (and I know it is) to do something to try and help find Mike Surber's killer.
Mike Surber was one of our brothers and he deserves justice.

Maybe Jam or someone can post up the Killers photo's here in this thread again, and a brief tutorial about Mike Surber and all the particulars about what happen and where.
There are always new readers to AZB and maybe someone new to our forum that hasn't heard will get informed about it.
You know how it is, when threads get buried they get forgotten, we need to keep this subject up on top and often.
We need a flier posted up here on this thread, his photo and all the paticulars, so we all can make a copy and every tournament we go to, every bus station we pass by, ect. tape a few up so they will be seen, it's gotta help!

Law enforcement is seeking to question a "person of interest" that was last seen with Mike Surber. These photos were captured on surveillance cameras at Skeeter's Billiards on November 10, 2009.
He is described as in his forties or fifties, about 185 pounds, with dirty blond hair pulled back in a ponytail and a receding hairline. He also was seen wearing two round earrings in his upper right ear.
An eyewitness described the person of interest as "fairly soft-spoken, not pushy, fairly intelligent, but with an entrusting, beguiling-type demeanor...."
I see you're from Indy. I was thinking we can get a listserv of some sort or a mailing list with places to send posters. This idea was brought up long ago, but for some reason, it was shot down.
Hopefully, we can get some guidance from the Ocean Springs Police Department before we move forward with anything. It is important that they stay in the loop.

Here locally, with the APA being prevelent, I think the best way would be to send it to the APA franchise owners for there dispersal as well as our only two pool halls. I'd be up for helping with my area.

No, I'm not from Indy, but you bring up an excellent idea. If we can disseminate this through the leagues, we would definitely reach a wider audience. Thanks for your kind offer to help. Together, we can all seek justice for Mike Surber. I pray this comes to an end soon.
So let’s put this plan in action. If someone would kindly make a poster I'm sure a lot of people would step forward and distribute them to their local gatherings. I’m sure a lot of people have already sent e-mails and such, but sometimes bar owners, league ops ect get busy and don’t bother doing anything with an electronic copy. If we hand them a hard copy flyer there is no more excuses for them.
I'm afraid I would not be a good choice for making the flyer as my graphic arts skills are limited, any volunteers?

I think this is doable, but we have to get the clearance to move forward first from law enforcement. It is always a good idea to check with them to make sure this is a good plan of action. I'm hoping they give us the green light. I will send an e-mail to the lieutenant in charge this week and see what he thinks, so stay tuned!
