I took my cue in to have a new tip put on it.

The repair guy and me got to talking about our fondness of hard tips and comparing notes and he told me his favorite tip was a Le Pro soaked in WD40.

I've always been curious about different milk dud recipes - including those that use hyde glue? But WD40??

Is this a thing? Has anyone ever heard of WD40 soaked tips? What does this do?

Thanks in advance.

I can't imagine a strong bond to the ferrule no matter what glue/adhesive you use. I certainly wouldn't trust it. Maybe he was just pulling your leg.

WD-40 duds are held on to the cue with duct tape, not glue.

The wdduds USUALLY Screw to the top of the shaft or no screws use a SMALL sheet rock screw-
soak the screw in sawdust

I really never heard of oil-soaked tip-
just milk, half & half , heavy cream is all
then cooked in some heat and pressed-
something in the chemical nature of the dairy that make a leather tip have more grip
