Listening to Allen Hopkins on Runout Radio got me thinking about his new tournament format that is modeled after a qualification structure similiar to poker. So the question is who is playing if there is a qualification tournament in your area.

Most people complain about the status or our sport. Here is a chance to take your shot for $25 or just donate to play in a qualifier. Think about it: If 40,000 players just take a shot at the intro level you get the 1 million purse.

Please list the highest value you would be willing to enter a qualifier, even though you may get in through a lower level event.

I have seen people compare poker to pool and why we can't even come close to the payouts. Poker has tons of qualification paths for every tournament for very low entries. Now we have to understand that in poker everyone has a chance to win and you don't have to worry about table times and scheduling (thank to internet poker) but producing enough qualifiers to get $1,000,000 should not be that hard.

I would have no problem playing in any of the qualifiers as long as they are reasonably priced - perhaps $50-$100 is my range for a "qualifier".

Is this is the way they are planning to finance to "Million Dollars"? I hope not, because this hasn't worked in the past. Either way, I would support it if a qualifier came to town.
