I have a cue that I am trying to identify. I have asked around and have not found much if anything out. I would really appreciate any help !!! Some of the guesses have been Palmer, Viking, Mali, etc...

Thanks in advance!!!

it's really quite nice looking... can't believe there's no name brand marked on it anywhere. Does Tim Scruggs put logos on his stuff? I think he puts a tiny "TS" on them. Anyway it looks a little fancy for viking.

Something that makes me suspect Palmer is correct is the neat band of gold in the clear 'window' at the bottom. You can sorta see a similar effect on this one:

Then again it should say 'palmer' or some famous name on the gold part. The transparent bit though is really the only thing that jumps right out.

Perhaps Rambow? But the joint doesn't look quite right. Taking a wild guess here...please don't accept this as gospel. The white with green flec wrap looks like the wrap on my Original Palmer M...FWIW.

I just sent a link to this post to Chris the Palmer guy. Maybe he will know what this is.

It's hard to tell but the pin looks like a 14?, that's unlike Palmer?

Is it possible to get a couple more pics of the butt with/without the rubber protector in so we can see the inside and the end view? How about a shot looking at the joint pin so you can see the area between the pin and the joint collar sleeve.

It could be a Frank Paradise cue, except I haven't seen any of his work with that long of a joint pin.

Rich Q's built a few cues that resemble this one also. The use of plastic and the ringwork makes me think of a very early Palmer, but the pin doesn't look right. Chris Tate will probably tell you what it is.

It's not a Palmer. It looks like a Palmer/Paradise/Rich copy made by Gandy or National in the 1970's. It could also be a custom - hard to tell.

Chris

Ok....here are some close ups!!!!!

Chris, I just noticed that you live about 10 minutes from me. Would it be possible to meet so I can show you this cue??

The very end of the butt has been replaced with the closest matching material my cue guy could find. The screw and bumper were on the cue when I got it.

Side note - the guy I got the cue from ( 15 years ago ) also had a bunch of Ginacues. Very early Gina's !! He bought his Macon Billiards table, the Gina's and this cue in the late 60's.

The cue has been refinished and the wrap replaced with an almost perfect match. There were no markings, initials or names under the wrap :(

Thanks again for any and ALL input !!!!!!

i dont have a clue what it is but it IS something, I like it too, good for you. But I dont think its worth quite a million.

I'll give you a heck of a deal then Fatboy...only a 1/2 million for you!!!

It has been very frustrating....... Schrager looked at it, Ernie Guttierez looked at it, I think Padgett has seen it and a bunch of other people. Lots of guesses (some very educated!!), no concrete confirmation.

I would love to find out who made it......even if it turns out its only worth $20.00 !!!!

It is a unique cue and it hits pretty good also.

Russ...

Send some pictures to Viking - Robin Kneebone-Hart or Nancy & Gordon Hart. A lot of early Vikings had windows in the butt - although most had the Viking name in the window. Worth a shot. Say hello to Chris for me when/if you see him.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

you might want to try and contact paul rubino about this cue. he may be very helpful. joe v, classiccues, may be able to help. if you decide to sell it, i might have an interest.

Tell u what. If u find out it's only worth $20., I'll give u $30. and u can make 50% profit. :D
