Mind Set - Pool and Pro Ball

I was just thinking how there is a HUGE difference in the mindset of pro ball players both NBA/ NFL vs pool players. Pro ball players actually practice on how to get away with fouls. Pool players have discussions about the honor of calling fouls on themselves. Can you imagine an NFL player asking for a 15-yard holding penalty because they grabbed a guy without being seen? It's odd we pay pro ball players millions to win "AT ANY COST" but pool players who we are begging to be honorable...nothing. Just an observation.

I think the difference to me is whether there is a referee to call fouls or not. I fouled last night in league and immediately announced it. Put me in a paintball tournament where most of the other players will cheat if they can, and there is a referee to call it, and I'm probably going to join the herd. If there is a referee I'm not doing his job for him.

On friendly matches or even intense league matches, It's either the high road or the low road. Choose your poisin. Conversely, it's a given there will be big action on pro sports events; not for boy scouts.
