Young Nick Vita slipped into Chicago a week or so ago and snuck up on a couple of local shortstops who didn't know who he was......They figured a young looking kid like that probably plays jam-up 9 ball, but can't play real strong One Pocket......Well, Nick charged them pretty good for that clocking mistake that they made - They know who he is now.....^_^

And to think, Lil Jon, use to thump him at the game.

That's funny. I think I might have seen the tail end of this at Chris' while practicing a couple tables away. I googled Nick Vita images and it looks like it could be the same guy I saw. I don't remember which night, maybe a couple weeks ago.

Looked like a pretty serious match at the time, mostly one pocket. It's good to see things picking up at Chris'. The smoking ban really seemed to turn things upside down over there for a while.

I remember a couple of the regulars looking around asking each other after he left, "Who was that kid?" :D

???????????

I saw him at DCC 2yrs ago play for $100 a game an $200 a game looked like for the $200 prize it was much better.

Thanks for the report Ghost. I heard some of the details of his visit to Chris' and I have to say I got a good chuckle out of it. By the way, Jessica's gonna be a little late gettin' home tonight. Sorry:(

Yeah Bill, and I think Lil' Jon needs a ball or two from him now.......The seasoned railbirds/side-betters who sweated the sessions were very impressed with young Nick's One Pocket game.

The reigning US Open One Pocket Champion sneaks up on people. Damn, just goes to show how fast his game has gone up.

Nick beat a local player here in South Florida they call Big Randy at the lil Derby during the summer. I believe Randy was also saying...who in the hell is this kid...???

Yeah, I was there and watched a little of that - it was amusing....They played before the tournament started....Randy thought he got lucky getting a kid like that to play him even One Pocket.....After a few games, the - ' this-is-gonna-be-fun - smile ' was gone from Randy's face.

And here I thought "mini action" meant something low stakes. :P

So in keeping with that thought, I'll report that last night, a guy I used to utterly FEAR asked me to play a set of 8-ball, race to 5 for $20, took him up on it, and got'em. He got up 4-0 on me first, but I came back to win five straight. Woo twenty bucks! :P
