Minimum number of tables to run a 100+ player multi-day tournament?

Doing some research and I'm trying to figure out what the minimum number of 9 foot tables you could have in a hall to effectively run a 2 day weekend tournament with, say, 128 players.

Thoughts?

If it is race to 9, nineball, 8 tables per 64 players. 16 tables in your case.
This should take at least 12 hours first day, bringing back 16-24 players for the second day. (did a few of these)

Just for clarity, are you both referring to double elimination tournaments?
