Minnesota Sourced Woods for Cue Design

I am designing a MN Twins themed cue, and am trying to use all local materials in the design. I know for the butt plate, joint, and ferrule Buck Antler would be an obvious choice, but what woods would I use for the rest.

I was thinking Oak for the handle and points, but for veneers and forearm, what should I think of using. I was trying to think of local hardwoods that are nicely colored or grained, but cant find much, most of it is really light.

Just in concept/design phase right now, and am hoping to have it built in the next couple of years. Thanks for any suggestions.

LOL by the title I thought Fats had made a cue with cheeseburger inlays!

I noticed it, and tried on change it, but it only changed once you click on it. I thought the title made me sound like a bum willing to trade food for cue design, when I am trying to find some darker woods that are located in Minnesota.

On another note, there is a recipe for chip dip made out of White Castle Sliders, so there might just be hope for cheeseburger inlays!!
