Minnesota Sourced Woods for Cue Design
I am designing a MN Twins themed cue, and am trying to use all local materials in the design. I know for the butt plate, joint, and ferrule Buck Antler would be an obvious choice, but what woods would I use for the rest.
I was thinking Oak for the handle and points, but for veneers and forearm, what should I think of using. I was trying to think of local hardwoods that are nicely colored or grained, but cant find much, most of it is really light.
Just in concept/design phase right now, and am hoping to have it built in the next couple of years. Thanks for any suggestions.
