Miscued on the "BARK"?

So im sure everyone here has either "barked" to get a game or has been "barked" at to play a game.

Im not a fan of "barking" but i understand it. What i experienced this week and saw tonight was funny.

Ever see someone Miscue on a Bark? what i mean is guys who bark at you but dont want to play you.

This is remarkably funny to me. Sunday a tournament director barked at my horse and then backed out of the game. Today a guy barked at a local shortstop after he won the match. After barking at the shortstop he backed out of the game.

Is this some new "thing" that im not aware of. Has Barking evolved to this. I hate BARKING and now I think its down right EMBARRASSING

Here in New Orleans, it is sometimes called the "pump fake" or the "double pump-fake" and sometimes depending upon how many people are involved in the play, a collective ruse.

As in the automobile industry think "bait & switch".

"Testing the waters" is common in any savvy pool hall. It is used to determine the amount of money that one person has to gamble with as well as how gullible the participant is and what they might potentally go for.

The faked embarassment when caught is nothing to this skilled charlatan.

whats funny is this guy tells me that he can give my boy the 7.

Then i say, "lets go"

he says, "1000 a set"

me: "you got it!!"

Him: "post 2K and... lets play even"

Me: "if you dont wanna play just say so"

Happens all the time. I usually get different versions. Just tonight I went up to my home room where I "overheard" the self-proclaimed top player in the state talking about how he plays for "mad cash." I asked him to play some cheap sets. He says he doesn't play for less than a thousand. So I show him my small bankroll (it was only about half of what he plays for). He tells me he doesn't have his cue but he'll play me $5 a game anyway. So I went inside and got a table and waited. He came in and saw me take 3 shots before figuring out he was too broke to play. Besides, his girls (god they were dirty) wanted him to play with them.
