Tell John not to be spending all that dough he got off me the other night Jamey, I might wanna try that game again here sometime soon. ;)
I told John that you was going to bust him and he said you was going to have to bet alot more to bust him...LOL.....

He can be such a DORK.....

I like that guy, he's got a bit of gamble in him.....I guess I'll have to increase my bankroll before I hit him up again then. At least I know he isn't going to be broke when I wanna shot at him again. :)

I will give that to him.....He will gamble !!!!!! He's really not a one pocket fan. He has always bet high playing 9ball but if he thinks he has a chance in a game, he will ship it....

Jamie im sending Chuck Raulston to snap it off. Call me later

chuck isnt a resident of missouri :D. Also i had a question for you sam. Mike banks jr. said that they wont let him play in it. if that is true then how the hell is darren playing in it? just my two cents.

They actually determine your "amateur" status by money won over the last year in tournaments. I'm not a representative of Billiards or it's ownership, but I'm pretty sure Mike Jr. has won a whole bunch more mondy than Darren has in the past year. I won't give my own personal opinion on the subject as I've dissagreed with a few of their selections over the past year, but I hope it doesn't discourage any player from competing this year or any forthcoming. Hell, I always say bring 'em all on, if your gonna call yourself a champion then make sure the field is of championship calibre...crap, I have been drinkin' tonight with my woman so I guess I better shut up before I open up a can of worms and tell everyone how I really feel about the difference between amateurs and pros and the distinguishing factors between the two. I do have one post on AZ that I will stand behind...if a player can show me six months worth of 40 hour a week pay stubs, he can go ahead and bust me. :) Maybe someday that will happen, but as far as I know Darren Everett is the only one that plays at his level that can do that. Oh yeah, there is that one guy Matt Clatterbuck down in Florida that can shoot the eyes off 'em too, but he works for UPS and looks like he could fight in the octagon so I'm not gonna dispute his status amateur or pro or anything else. LOL

I would love to have Mike come down and play. I respect his game and I love his personallity as well. I'm actually sorry he was excluded from the field. If I had heard about that before tonight I would have definately made a comment to Phil about it on his behalf.

Anyway I hope we get a great field of fine shooters for this years event and I wish all the entrants the best of luck! Hope to see you all this weekend!

PS, Chuck played last year and didn't take it down. I think he's one hell of a great player, but it just goes to show how tough this format and the competition is that a player of his calibre didn't win it all. If he's playing this year, maybe he'll get 'er done! He's got my best wishes as well.

I have been waiting for this to come out.....Mike Banks Jr is a good player. OK, a great player....But he IS still considered an amature.

Darren is also a great player..... But he was allowed to get back in the mix in 2000 just like everyone else was and it is 2009 and he hasnt won the damn thing yet.....Just like Sam has said, this is one of the toughest tournaments to win because of the format....

Banks Jr. should be allowed to play just like Darren, As far as i am concerned NOBODY should be barred......NOBODY.....How in the world can you call yourself a state champion when there is 10 people in the state that you cant beat......

I wished everyone would scream about this and someday it might change...Just my opinion !!!!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK to all this year....

Jamey

thanks for your imput jamey i totally agree with you. you cant be a state champion in my eyes unless everyone in the state had a shot at the title...good luck to everyone this year ill be there, im going to play if there is any spots left, and if not, i just might bet the farm on the side. gl and see everyone there!

Make sure that you check and double check the score sheets too. Last years winner who I traveled with for the weekend, Joe Woolford, was packed up and out the door as he was told he did not make the final 12. It wasn't until Arizona Jay came over and told me that the scores were wrong and someone had reversed the winner/loser in a match within the same bracket. This was absolutely respectful of Jay, as he had to be thinking that Joe was one of the favorites to win. Some other low down pool scum might have taken this opportunity to let Joe go home and not stand in his way. But Jay, being the standup guy that he is, made sure that Joe knew the score was wrong and the correction was made. The last part of this story was that when Phil told the other guy that thought he was in the final 12 but now out, he didn't even ask for an explanation, put up a fight, or look extremely disappointed and just walked away. Like he knew what was really up.

BTW, Joe wound up beating Jay in the final 12.

No offense Jamey - we are buddies - but for this reason I hope that Jay wins this year. You can have second and wait one more year.

Watchez, i couldnt agree with you any more......Jay is a real stand up guy and i have nothing but respect for him and his pool game. You are probably correct about most other's in that situation.....NOTHING WOULD HAVE BEEN SAID !!!!!!!!! Way to go JAY......That is CLASS !!!!!!

Wow, I feel ignorant as all @#$% now. I wasn't even aware of that happening last year. That is a great act by Jay and it's definately in character for him as well! I'm sure there are alot of players that would have let Joe walk right out the door in a heartbeat, but it's nice to see some of us in this world still play with honor as part of our game and our personalities, Arizona Jay has always been of that nature.

I hope that this year's champion is a man of such character as well, whether it be Jay or any other who carry themselves with class. Best of luck to all the competitors!

Any results from Friday Night?

The one who stayed home....

Just heard a rumor that Jamey went 7-0 in winning his first flight, any other results?
