Is the tourny handicap?
Is this after Christmas tournament still on ? Is this tournament handicapped or straight up? One day or two day ? Long drive for me , about 3 hours. Would not be happy if I drive up and the tournament is a no go.

The Tables are Gold Crown 1's ( 14) all in Excellent shape ,we are having really good tournaments every week now, but I wanted to do something Big....
We talked about it last night and no one has signed up so we will have to
postpone it !! There have been a few calls but thats it .So I assumed no one was interested!! One guy told us that no one would be interested unless you did it with one of the tours ,I was trying to do it so the players got the money ?? Oh well my mistake I guess. If we get some REAL interest I WOULD Do A BIG TOURNAMENT with GOOD PAY by the way Charlotte is 50 min. a lot of the players that play every sat are from there ,not to mention Matt,and his wife , that owns Smoke and Cue has came and played several times ,First Class People !!

I know that nobody may have signed up, but I had an almost certain number that I knew of around 10 to 15 that were willing to drive 3 hours for this event. Pool players don't like to commit ,but are willing to keep things in mind till the last minute. The predator tourney in Tallahassee last month ended up with 116 players and only about 30 signed up early ???????
I'd agree with this comment. I think what might be helpful is a Tournament Flyer with all of the descriptors. ie Start time/date, Tournament rules (9/10 ball- Texas express- no 3 foul? - 9 on the break bottom 2 pockets? alternate/winner break?, race to ? winner/loser side, handicaps? etc) and entry fees etc.
The same could be done for the weekly tournaments aside from this event to be re posted (bumped) as a weekly reminder.
Having visited this last month I can say this is a great centralized place to see our southeast area talent spar. Hope the management promotes its for all to enjoy. Build it and they MIGHT just come out to play.

Steve you are on the right track. Do not bring in a tour. They end up with all the money. I play monthly at a room sponsored tournament and the payout is much better than any of the tours. I think you have misjudged the turnout. I personally know of five players myself included who were planning to make the trip (3 hours) to play in your post Christmas tournament. I am disappointed that you are postponing it. Advertise appropriately and they will come. Everyone is getting burnt out on the regional "tour" tournaments because the tournament director makes more than the entire payout for the field.

We have a eight(8) ball tournament on Friday ,The Nine (9)ball tournament is on Saturday, and a Scotch Doubles on Sunday !!! All Tournaments start at approx. eight(8) o'clock. The Nine (9) ball tournament is getting really BIG as is the BREAK AND RUN growing like 250 ish. per ball. We will start a Break and run on fri 8 Ball Tournament this week end the 28th I will start it out with 1000.00 !! So come on out now that you know when, where and all the info....Any other questions just ask I will do my best to answer promptly

This is an awesome room and a great atmosphere for the player. Friendly Staff, Player Friendly Tournaments and lots of goodwill. Great Equipment, nice setting in downtown Mocksville. Just awesome.

As more players start coming out, Try racing to your handicap and rank players in the middle if you don't know there speed. After a few weeks you will know where everyone is, but start in the middle. Race to 2 is brutal and is more of a gamble than 9 ball from the start. Give the players there money's worth and let them play a little longer to give the rolls a chance to die down. Randolphs worked out great like this and the tournament only lasted a little longer with fewer tables. Plenty of 4 and 5 ranked players won that tournament for big money. Just my 2 cents.

We tryed that format ,and a good bit of the players hated it . We have alot of players that drive a good ways ( to 4 hrs) to play , and they said they didn't like loosing one set and being done.....So we went to this format and everyone seems to like it better???? Im fine with it either way, just went with what the majorty asked for.. It seems to be working out pretty good , as our entry's have grown almost every week !!
By the way, thanks for the comment's on the room and how everyone was treated.....We will do our best to make sure everyone is treated fair and has a good time , thats why I built this place ,in the end thats all everyone wants, in my opinion ..
