I will share my experience. I have run 132 consecutive tournaments with one-match finals. The move away from MAYBE two-match finals was an improvement for everyone involved. Things have gone too well to ever go back.

Well Paul, obviously you're not alone in that experience. Most events seem to be single set finals, not DE.
