Monster mike sigel trade

These cues from Mike are very nice and they play well, at least the one I have used did. Shannon played with a cue that is nearly identical to this one for quite a long while. It was the cue he used for the past 3 years or so until his recent sponsorship by Andy G.

GL with the cue.

Yes...I have seem the cue that Shannon was playing with. Joe Salazar had it on display at the US Open and he was asking 5K for the cue. No doubt, this cue is a MONSTER...

I think some people here may have had some assumptions about this deal/trade that OP did not make. Like the fact that he was looking to trade a high end Sigel for a high end Black Boar. The difference there would be thousands.

To me it sounds more like his is trying to trade his sigel (hands down the nicest I've seen, by the way) for almost *ANY* Black Boar. Whether it's an older basic model, or whatever. That is just the only brand he's looking for.

I do however agree that this might be a difficult trade to make, but NOT because of the price issue - These cues are apples and oranges different. Somebody who likes a steel jointed cue like a BB, will probably shy away from a flat faced cue like this.

You never know though. Somebody might have played with a flat faced cue for long time, bought a Black Boar and thought, "Wow, I can't wait to get rid of this thing becuase it plays so different than what I was playing with before. I wonder what's out there??!!!"

And that's where you come in.

Good luck with the sale, and thanks for posting the pics!

appreciate the kind words dakota. you hit it on the nose. I was just wanting to see if anyone had one that was rough or a early model. i might be having to keep this one on the back burner and keep it in the closet or just repost it for cash instead so i can buy another bb! :D

I have owned many of Mike's custom cues. The one you have here is one of my favorites of his..classy...not too over the top. There is no doubt that, when this cue was built by Mike, probably in the mid-late 90s, it would have been a $3-4k cue. Yes, the market is soft, but it will come back, eventually. This cue would be a great cue to have on the back burner...an extremely nice cue at a real fair price. Yes, I could see someone coming off a simple BB for this cue.

In addition, the cues of this period that were built by Mike play real well. Folks seem to forget that Mike was with Joss cues back in the days when they were super-built cues. He does know how to build a nice cue.

I will see Mike early next week. I will show him this cue and see what he has to say about it.

Joe
Joe , just when I'm ready to have my say!, you always come out with the right thing to say and you are right on the money...Keep the CUE damm it, how many world champs have made cues like that one??
