For the AZers up here in the northwest I would like to pass on that our annual memorial tourney came off great again this year. Thanks to Cattlemans in Kalispell for hosting, Kyle and Cheryl Burgess for recovering the tables and Kevin and Roxie and Ken and me[Don] for running it.
Our "local" player/cuebuilder Mr. Jack Madden defended his last years championship against Jeff Boucher but came out second best this year. Jack pulled some real crowd pleasing shots out of his bag but Jeff just had the cue ball on a string. It was a match to remember.
We had the women back this year and I apologize for last year. Our mistake. They played at the Eagles lodge on 7 footers with Granito cloth and they are FAST!. The finals came down to Carla Horner from Idaho and Shiela Moss from Washington. Carla prevailed but it was hard fought.I commend all the women for coming over and playing their hearts out. It was all really cool and I can't wait for next year.
