WoW, now there's a 'blast from the past'.
I remember 'Moon Mullins' contacting me about 10-12 yrs. ago inquiring about the finish I was using. Well, at that time I was shooting Sherwin Williams conversion lacquer. At the time, I thought it was an alright finish but it came with a lot of the typical drawbacks associated with lacquer; yellowing with age, chipping, etc.
I believe that I sold him a gallon (w/catalyst) and was very glad to do so because Sherwin Williams would only sell the finish in 5 gal. containers. Given the number of cues I was building at the time, it would have taken me 10 yrs. to use 5 gals.
From what I remember, he seemed like an alright guy, asked the right questions and seemed committed to 'walking the cue-building path'. I think he said he was from the Ypsilanti area.
If he is still building cues, I wish him well on 'his path'.
