I've been playing with my Moori III for quite some time now, and it's starting to mushroom out like crazy. What's the best way to get this straight again? I think i've pretty much compressed it as much as I can.

Thanks for any info!

You're probably best off to go to a local cue repair person and have them trim it on a lathe.

My thoughts exactly. After doing this once though, you should have no more issues with the Morri...even if its an S.

I'm on my second (and probably last) Moori -- both have had the same mushroom problem. I sand-paper it off myself... painstakingly.

I think I'm about to go back to the hard Triangles.

yeah.. like coastydad said.. once you get a moori installed, they always mushroom.. you always need to have them trimmed once. and once you get it trimmed that first time.. it will never do it again..

It's not just triming. The side of any tip that exhibits mushrooming will also need to be reburnished after mushrooming has been trimed off.
I have this neat little plastic pencil sharpener looking thing that I trim with and I burnish with the Ultimate tuning fork.:D

Mine mushroomed after the first two times of play. Fortunately my buddy trims them right up on his lathe. After the second time I've had no issues. I do like the triangles and wouldn't hesitate to use one of those as well.
