Moori M's delaminating

A customer brought back a shaft I put a Moori medium on recently.
The tip delaminated cleanly right in half. It cut ok during installation.

I just stood in my shop and pulled apart several Moori M's one layer at a time with my fingernail. :( Anyone had this happen to them? They were older, not the current generation I think.

I've never had that problem before but I've often wondered why. They are probably the driest tip I've ever had to put on. Normally I breath heavily on the back of a tip to set the super glue off but on Mooris I need to actually lick the back of the tip and then wipe it off to get enough moisture to set off the glue. I once got some talisman a little wet and that's exactly what they did. I could just peel off the layers as if there was no glue. About 45 of them too.

Kelly I've had about the same experiences already mentioned, Maybe on occasion have had It happen with one tip here or there, but never had a problem like that throughout a batch of them, although I agree I'm also surprised of that because they do seem very dry, or just like they could delaminate easily. I did have a couple of problems once with gluing though, and them not wanting to stick to a certain ferrule material, but I don't think that had as much to do with the tip Itself, because the glue was sticking to the tip side, It just didn't want to stick to ferrule face.

For some reason It seems like I remember someone else having the same problem one time, But I could be mistaken, as It's very deep and vague in My memory at this time.

I have never seen that problem with Moori tips, in factthey are most consistant layered tips I have every worked with.

Are you sure they were genuine Moori tips and not knock offs?
There is a seller of Moori Tips that has been misleading people for the last year or so calling older stock Moori tips "fakes". When Moori went to the sealed packages they first used one that had black writing on the packaging and the gold seal was on the clear side of the package. Then they changed to the green writing on the packaging and different looking Moori writing on the tips. Well now this really popular seller of Moori tips who started working for the company about the time the change happened is telling people the old stock are fakes. Maybe there have been some fakes through the years but I doubt there has been any in the sealed packages.
