I just was wondering if any of you guys played in the moose lodge tournament in PA. A good friend of mine placed second in the teams..Bernie Kirby and his friend Steve. Two top players..but they ran in to David Groce and his partner..who i hear are both jam up players.. My best friend in the world was there as well shooting. I hear the compatition is really high..and the number of players that play there is really good. I cant really play in them due to the color barrier that still exist but hey the world is sometimes slow to change. My best friend was going to quite because he wanted to bring me in as a member but was told no..but i told him "Hey..you enjoy playing ..then play" the fact that you feel that way is enough for me. I know as you go further up toward northen Va there are some black members..and from other states ..but i was curious are their any players here that went and how you did. Seems like a pretty cool venue..
 
I used to play in those tournaments, I won the 2002 State Tournament in Oklahoma. I just rejoined the Moose Club, great bunch of guys & gals. I'm not sure If I time to join a league or not.
 
Our Moose has an 8 ball tourney of Friday nights (going over there in a minute) and 9 ball on Saturday night.
We're going to have a big tourney in Oct restricted to Moose members only.. I'll post details later

I think that its really cool that an organization like the Moose Lodge does so much to promote pool..I hear that some really jam up players end up shooting in the national tournament. I did some research and the guy that my friend Bernie and Steve played "David Groce" placed 33 in the US Open..that pretty damn strong..hehe
 
Oct 13 & 14 at the Moose in Smyrna De we're having an 8 ball tourney. $25 to get in and a top prize of $300 based on a field of 32. Race to 3 call ball and pocket, no slop, ball in hand for cueball fouls. We're bringing in 3 extra tables to handle it. Entry wii be in the month of Sept, with the seeding and match times to be posted a week before it starts.
This is my baby, and I'm really excited about it. It's going to bring out whatever local "talent" there is. I have no illusions on how I will fair, I'll most likely be a donor, but I'll be in it to win it...
