Speaking of which has anyone noticed since my age is creeping up and my eyes are getting worse every room owner has shimmed the pockets so the balls don't go in like they used to?

Here is a copy of a post I made last summer on Bonus Ball. I believe it rings true:

If this is something that MAYBE can attract new young players, then MAYBE they might migrate to more conventional games as they age and take their disposable income to the halls. Let's face it folks, one day all the old timers are gonna die, and with it the last remaining pool halls. Sorry for being callous, but this is true IF you do not get NEW players. It is simple demographics.

The youth love fancy and fast. The scoreboard - streamed to a small flat screen is awesome. All the group of friends can see the interactive display. Think electronic scoring for bowling.

Seriously, it seems that many on this forum - not calling anyone out - are almost silently wishing for ANY new idea to fail. Kind of like all you APA bashers. I mean really, do you have any idea how much money is spent on our sport by some of these. Most of the very low handicappers on my team have spend hundreds of dollars each on equipment that otherwise would never have been spent. In addition, hundreds of dollars every week on food and drink at the facility. Sorry, off topic but relevant in my view for the success of our sport in the future.

ANYTHING that brings new players to the game is good. Not saying this will, but I certainly hope it does.

I wish everyone associated with Bonus Ball the best of luck, but I hope Bonus Ball will be more watchable than poker and that those associated with it will be much more honest than some of those associated with poker.

And now there's another pool league called NAPA should we slam them right out of the gate? Its nice to have choices and bonus ball is an aspect of play that cannot hurt the game but only help. Allot of pro pool players only follow the money and that is their choice and probably in their DNA, it's hard to train cats (or pro poker players, unle$$ you have allot of food$$$$$$$$). I hope it does well as it can only help our industry, but the game itself and the players are definitely are a big part of the RISK factor in this venture, but everything in life is risk. Ya gotta take risk to get anywhere. Larrry C. I'm sure isn't a stupid person, he sees something that others don't but hopefully will once his vision is Played and heard and seen live.

I paraphrase the whole BB venture like this, and I compare it in many ways to Paul Simon (Graceland Album) of Simon and Garfunkle when he went to south Africa 1985 during the height of the apartheid days with Nelson Mandella still in jail.

You can create a great song Graceland/or idea like Bonus Ball, but NO one will ever appreciate it till its PLAYED (how you ever loved a song by just reading the words and never hearing the insturments/vocals?). They gotta play, then we'll soon find out the winner/loser, and if its the music we enjoy in our world. Hell when ya went to college the real work came after you graduated, and there still was NO guarantee, yet you were willing to spend years in the eduaction system just to get a chance at life.
