These are both scams, copycat auctions from the past - you have to BEWARE since the administration at e-bay not only won't cancel the auctions but has prevented us from notifying the bidders that these are scams:

Hi Guy,

The I is a scam - I know the person who sold it and it's a copycat auction. I also recognize the towel he uses to photograph with :p

Stay away from seller crazypoolguy on eBay. I took a negative feedback from him and will not mutually withdraw feedback as he requested. Just needed to warn others to stay away. I bought a new Predator P2 from him. The linen wrap looked terrible and was damaged. He did not send a 314 shaft as described in auction. He sent a Z shaft with a black collar and silver ring which did not match the cue. I filed a Paypal claim against him for item significantly not as described and requested a $100 refund for which it cost me to have JWPETREE rewrap the cue. I had to order a matching 314 shaft also and will need to sell the Z shaft. He also lied about shipping and would only respond to emails after I filed a Paypal claim against him. He said I was trying to blackmail him for $100. Just a heads up to everyone :)

That sucks. You are to be admired for the negative and for warning others. How did paypal handle the refund? Did you get it?

I own the original Palmer Model J with the Model 16 butt and MOP french diamonds. The pictures were highjacked from me. 2 shafts and original case. Slight wobble to both shafts, otherwise in incredible condition. I have 100% feedback on EBAY and have had 3 easy transactions with AZ'ers. $3000 or best offer. PM me with your email address if you'd like pictures. Thanks.

Hello all. How do these people hijack these accounts and why does ebay not do anything about this. I got burned out 150 for some computer parts. Ebay and paypal did nothing. I have heard people talk about sniper programs for ebay. Anybody know anything about these. I just dont understand how ebay can stay in business. I have seen at least 5 bogus actions that Azers have found in a couple of weeks.

They cancelled the ginacue and balabushka auctions finally - the account was hijacked.

The other two are still running.

Chris

No I did not get a refund. The seller offered me a refund through Paypal less the shipping costs. I did not trust crazypoolguy to refund my money if I returned the cue to him. So I just left negative feedback for him knowing he would do the same for me. At least others will be somewhat aware not to trust him. But I'm sure he will continue to mislead other buyers for as long as he can get away with it.

It's surprisingly easy to hijack an account. The perpetrators send out phishing emails that look like they are from ebay. When you try to reply, you are sent to a spoof site which mimics ebay's login routines and records your password when you attempt to log in.

Whenever you get any such emails from "Ebay" (or anyone for that matter), you need to log into that website through normal means, either by typing the name manually into your browser, or through your regular bookmarks or shortcuts. Never use a link supplied to you in an email.

I wonder what this means...

Thanks man!...I was watching J!

oh well, it's a shame scumbags feel the need to screw up a good thing!

thanx again, Gerry

I just bid $10,000,000 on it.....

I do this on obvious scams sometimes just to amuse myself. It can be fun when the scammer is trying to get me to send funds. One idiot actually sent me his real name and banking info!!
Anybody want to join in the fun? Jump in there and run up the "sales" price:).

Slider you are right. Too many people are falling for these obvious hijack attempts. They are surprisingly easy to spot. First of all, PayPal and eBay (and I even got one from "Bank of America" - that's scary!) don't send out these email warnings urging you to come and log in to "fix" your account, etc. But if you just have to take a look it's okay to click on the link. Just look up in your Address bar and the URL will always look like the website is somewhere in the basement of a Tibetan brothel (do they have those?). A real link to eBay will always have an "http://...ebay.com" in the URL with nothing fishy in front of it. Same for paypal, BankofAmerica, etc. The scammer cannot fake what shows up in the Address bar. I know some people don't have their Address bar showing but you can get it by clicking on View->Toolbars->Address Bar.

Well, they cancelled the Model I auction (finally) today but despite the fact I gave them the original auction number on the other "custom" Palmer, they seem to be letting that run.

They removed a new Tascarella auction on a heisted account within an hour of it being reported. The stolen accounts have first priority obviously because they than quickly see when and how the account info was changed.

E-Bay is flooded with so many scam auctions they just simply can't keep up.

If you go to a sniper site, you'll see another way they hijack accounts. In order for you to participate in an auction, that you wish to place a sniper bid, you have to devulge your EBAY ID AND PASSWORD in order for them to place your bid. After that you are locked out of your account.

just type in sniper in the search engine and you'll see how that works.
