I purchased a GC III a few weeks ago. When I took it apart I removed all of the slate screws (not realizing ofcourse that the slate is attached to a frame). My question is, does it matter if the head & foot slate is not matched with the correct frame? Also, is the slate supposed to be screwed into the table frame at just the head & foot or on the sides as well (to clarify, I removed 8-3 inch screws 2 head, 2 foot & 4 on the sides). Thanks in advance.

I think you have something wrong there buddy, first of all, GC3 slates have the slate backing glued to the slate, not screwed. The amount of slate screws 3" should have been at least 12. There's 2 at the edge of each seam, that's 8. Then 2 at the ends of each end slate, that's 4.

Glen, I'm completely lost now.......... The table has the original felt & maybe i miscounted the screws......but, nonetheless does matter if the slates don't match the frames?

Wow......I just spoke with Glen for about 20 mins.............he is by far the most knowledgeable & helpful mechanic ever!!!!!
